Emma,
I’m here for the June BvB. I recall reading this during Collab, Round 1 and the one thing that struck me was how well you created parallels between the Pigfarts characters and the Hogwarts characters. Remus is always timid with such low self esteem about love whether he always has poisonous teeth or only once a month. Sirius as the everloving prankster with the fluffy tail. . . I mean gorgeous hair.
I loved your introduction about everyone in the galaxy knowing that Sirius fancied Remus except Remus himself. It made me smile and gave us a great insight into our poor oblivious Welber hero.
I love the part they finally talk. Remus in his blushing glory and then he has poisonous fangs. Sirius trying to act all nonchalant but desperately wanting to kiss the guy.
Alien kiss is a cute love story with a pair that are just adorable together.
Hello, I'm here for the Magical Menagerie Event (again) :)
I love that opening line, the idea that ‘the entire universe knows this’ is used so often, and so well-established, but reading it in the context of space-travel was very funny, and I had to be careful not to snort out loud when I read this on the tram!
I’m also really enjoying your use of science-fiction/space-themed vocabulary. I’m not sure if that’s how I’m meant to be reading it, but when you speak of Remus’s features shifting and morphing, I’m picturing that not as, like, raising eyebrows but more as ‘I am literally changing my facial features to reflect different emotions’ (It’s a Welbian ritual, naturally). Regardless, I’m living for it.
The way you’ve taken my beloved characters out of their usual context and into something completely different is magnificent; obviously, I went into this with very specific images of Remus and Sirius, and I love how you just casually dismantle them with off-hand comments of tails and glossy fur, which really makes me wonder what James looks like. Please tell me he has some form of alien tentacle-antler hybrid? Preferably purple, or bright orange. At the same time, they’re still the same as a person (or as an alien), and their characterisation is very familiar: Remus’s self-esteem issues, his being (perceived as) a total swot (mainly by Sirius), or Sirius flirtatious personality and him losing his cool around Remus. Their interaction leading up to the kiss is very sweet, too!
I also love the way your story is riddled with space-themed vocabulary and little details that I don’t understand in the slightest, from all their classes and flibberbottoms to Welbers and Xolfons. But I’m going to need your recipe for swint sauce.
Much Love,
Julia
Hi Emma! Back again for RvG and the Magical Menagerie.
Ah, this was a brilliant sequel to mateship! I'm always here for some Wolfstar, and this was no exception - the fact that you managed to write a story set in space and still had me rooting for the characters just as much as normal is really a testament to your writing.
Of course everybody in the galaxy knows that Sirius is completely, head-over-heels in love with Remus - except for Remus himself. I can't imagine that Sirius would ever be that subtle about fancying someone, even if he does it in what could come across as a jokey way, but naturally Remus is the only one who can't actually process that. He's so insecure and doesn't believe that someone could actually be in love with him the way that Sirius is - his obliviousness is kind of hilarious but also slightly heartbreaking, to be honest. He deserves to believe that he's worth that love!
James being the Good Friend is brilliant. His advice was actually pretty solid, and I loved the dig about him being wrong about Evans (maybe we'll get to read a story about the two of them at Pigfarts, too?). I can just imagine how smug he's going to be when he finds out that his Talk was enough to get Remus to stop being oblivious.
The details in this are so great, too - like the use of technology that makes Pigfarts seem distinct to Hogwarts, despite the fact that it's so close in most ways. You've made the world here really believable.
And finally! Remus and Sirius get together <3 The ending to this piece was really adorable, with Remus finally realising how much Sirius did feel for him, and the kiss (go Sirius for asking first, too). I don't know how you've managed to make Remus and Sirius aliens and still have me rooting for them and finding them so adorable, but this was brilliant!
Sian :)
Back for more Emma-menagerie, january rvg, etc
I can't tell if James Potter the Good Friend is going to be so so smug that it was his action that worked to get his best friends together or if he's just going to be so totallly thrilled that they're finally finally together. A little of both?
Oblivious Remus is SO amazing (and also, one of my favorite things, oblivious Remus and zero sense of shame Sirius). James talking to Remus about how he needs to cut this out and calling him out about letting Sirius down easy if he doesn't like him back is awesome. I died at James' inner monologue about Welbian courting rituals and when he's talking about their beautiful, glossy fur!
Remus knowing that Sirius likes him is not really much better. He's so awkward and adorable around Sirius then! I love James' text to Sirius tippng him off-short, sweet, and a little uncomfortable. Remus and Sirius finally getting together omg it was so perfect? Like I can't imagine anything better for an alien and a half human half alien. I LOVED that like about Sirus not knowing what it was like to kiss a half human and it feeling different! It was such a good little bit. AND THE SWINT SAUCE! I can't believe I almsot forgot about that! That's my favorite thing that Sirius has done here, I cannot believe Remus couldn't tell Sirius liked him after that AND PLEASE DO NOT LET HIM STOP WRITING LOVE MESSAGES IN IT OK?
anyway, please keep writing infinite more space opera au

HI EMMA I AM BACK FOR MORE ALIEN WOLFSTAR AWESOMENESS! (prepare yourself for a very shouty, erratic review. :P)
Of course everyone knows about Sirius' crush on Remus except Remus himself. Come on Remus, my lad, Sirius actually MEANS it when he compliments you, how can you be so oblivious??
Yes James! You tell him how stupid it all is. Remus would probably not get it even if Sirius came up to him with a petal from the flibberbottom flower and recited a poem from the 74th century. Thickkkk. Also, how do you come up with these things, Emma, you're practically genius. And hilarious. Please share your secrets.
Omg. Remus talking about Sirius' glossy, fluffy tail is PRICELESS. Also, the characterisations are so on point in this. I love how James is the supportive but impatient friend, and Remus has his insecurities about being a Welber. And the way you sneaked James' failed attempts with Lily into this as well. So many amazing, wonderful details, this fic is an absolute gem.
"You have beautiful glossy fur too!" HAHAHAHA. The dialogue in this is just. incredible. I love every word. (My cat just gave me a death glare for waking him up with my laughter, oops.)
I also love that you've combined technology with a magical world here. Clearly Pigfarts is a lot more advanced than Hogwarts in that aspect. And that text, oh man. I love James so much in this.
Awwww I live for Sirius' tail thumping on the floor. I love how it's an involuntary reaction to Remus' presence. HOW MUCH MORE OBVIOUS DOES IT NEED TO GET, REMUS?? You got a damn love letter in swint sauce.
Yup Sirius, just casually call him gorgeous, well done.
Sirius would risk getting poisoned to kiss Remus. I have tears. On a different note: I love that he asks Remus "Could I kiss you?" Ten points to Sirius for getting consent and not just jamming his lips onto Remus'. Hundred points to Emma.
OK PLEASE WRITE MORE OF THIS I AM ADDICTED. Your writing is absolutely masterful and I loved every single word of this! Thank you for such a fun read. <3

Aaaah!!! I might not ship Wolfstar that much, but... this was so satisfying? I love it! A lot!
So typical Remus... too dangerous to date... and how could someone as brilliant, gorgeous and highborn as Sirius being interested in a monster like him, right? Will he ever learn that he's awesome and that he deserves all the love in the world? Of course he won't, why am I even asking? *rolls eyes*
"You have beautiful glossy fur too! You could... brush each other's beautiful glossy fur or whatever!" I love this! It made me laugh so much! And thank Merlin for James taking things into his hands! I'm so glad he could make Remus see reason, as frustrating as Remus' self-loathing can be...
I love the idea that Sirius was being so obvious with his flirting (and that Remus still couldn't see it). I also loved James' text message to Sirius. Pretty straightforward, too. :P Their kiss was just... the sweetest thing? I just love my boys so much! I might have said this before, but it's always worth repeating it.
Sorry for another disorganized review! And thank you for making me smile with this!
Love you loads!
Chiara
Hello!! I’ve returned!!
I love that Sirius is just being SO OBVIOUS about his affection and Remus is STILL just SO OBLIVIOUS. They’re both such idiots and I love them both so much.
Also, James is a trooper here for dealing with Remus’ obliviousness and trying to protect both of his friends at the same time. “James considered abandoning this conversation, saving himself, but he was a Good Friend, and a Good Friend could not possibly let this nonsense continue for any longer than it already had.” I love anything with nonsensical capitalisation used for emphasis, tbh. And then also this part - “He’d received a weirdly cryptic text from James that had just said ‘REMUS EN ROUTE, PLEASE KISS’.” - because that also seems very on par for how James would handle this situation.
A little detail, but I love that Sirius’ tail started wagging when he saw Remus?? Like, that’s basically his alien form of blushing and it’s adorable??? And then they’re both SO AWKWARD. And they both clearly want to kiss each other but Remus is overthinking things (On Brand) and poor Sirius is just getting dragged on a roller coaster of emotions. But then they kiss!! And it’s all okay again!! And they’re super cute!!
Anyways, I love these two, especially in alien-space-opera-form, and this whole series has been so fun and YOU NEED TO WRITE MORE. (I mean that in a non-pushy way, don’t feel pressured to write more space opera things if you don’t want to, but I will very much enjoy it if you do.)

I am so glad that I peer-pressured gently nudged you into writing this story, because it is PERFECT. Like this is 1911 words of unadulterated awesomeness. Everything about this is super perfect.
First of all I just have to say that I LOVE James here. He's such a good friend trying to protect Sirius's feelings :') and all of his dialogue is SO, SO funny, like it's literally masterful, idk how you did it. And he managed not to start shaking Remus, which is frankly amazing because I know I would have.
And then Sirius is also perfect, he's so sweet and cute while also being self-assured and just so Sirius-y. I think the line "Sirius Black may never have developed a sense of shame, but he did have a sense of decency" just sums it up perfectly hahaha. I also have to say, I've read this a few times now and I still cackled at Sirius writing "I love you Remus Lupin" on Remus's dinner and Remus brushing it off as a friendly gesture. Like that is too funny and perfect.
Poor Remus was adorable, talking about Sirius's tail :') but it was interesting to see his excuses for why Sirius wouldn't like him and then why Sirius shouldn't kiss him, because it really reflected canon imo. We see Remus give excuses along the same lines to Tonks in the books, and it's also pretty much how I imagine Hogwarts-Wolfstar going down. So really good job there!
Anyway, I'm really sorry that this review is terrible, but this 'verse is awesome and I'm having so much fun reading your new stories :D
TTFN!

Hey Emma! I’m here for the magical menagerie :)
Alien space opera wolfstar, how could I not??
Omg, it’s even Pigfarts too. :’D I don’t know how to handle this story so far and I’n only one paragraph in.
I love that with a space story set at Pigfarts literally anything goes and there’s so much room for creativity. They have tails, some of them are Xolfons, but also have cell phones and take Mathematics. And even with all this weirdness, their personalities and the relationship between Remus and Sirius that we all know and love is so recognizable. It’s basically a universal constant.
Astronavigation sounds SO COOL???
How has Remus never noticed any of this EXTREMELY OBVIOUS FLIRTING before. Even I would notice something like this.
YAY I’m so glad it worked in the end! It only took a lot of meddling from all of their friends. :P The thing about “will I die” at the end was so funny. I’m so happy for these precious aliens. Loved this fic!
