Reviews For Discarded Pillows

Okay, THIS one I am confident I haven’t read before XD

I think Voldemort may have ruined bright green flashes for me.

This is interesting - I’m used to seeing Albus as a casual guy in casual circumstances, and here he still seems kind of casual, but is being treated in what feels like a very upper class way. But then even that is kind of juxtaposed with the fact that they’re essentially at a dance club. It all makes for an interesting mix!

Hehe, I love the tie-in of Marga Skeeter!

Oh! I had guessed that this night would be the beginning of something between Albus and Scorpius, but apparently they’re well into (and out of) something

Wow, I’m kinda surprised/disappointed that Albus compared his family fame to Rose’s like that

Albus seems very influenced by what other people say - after Rose’s prodding he was ready to jump into Scorpius’ arms, and one sentence from Roxanne changed his mind. Lol and of course he ends up with Dominique who won’t say anything when he actively wants someone to pull him away.

At first I wasn’t certain why Albus and Scorpius broke up, but by the end you make it very clear just how pervasive Albus’ preoccupation with what people say is. I’m glad he was able to get over that, at least for a minute, and I wish him luck in the harsh light of morning!

I thought this was very well done =)

Sam.

Author's Response:

Hey Sam!

You know, the thing with the green flashes didn't even occur to me.

Yeah. In this particular story I wanted to play with the normal perception of Albus. I know what you mean about him usually portrayed as being low key and out of the spotlight. That being said, him being Harry's son, I imagine it would be hard to not be affected by the media.

I can't take credit for the Marga Skeeter bit. That was from one of Roisin's stories. (I don't know if you remember her or not?)

I feel like someone growing up under a microscope might overcompensate by trying to please everyone. I kind of see Albus as going along with everyone's opinion as a way to try and make everyone happy and because he's insecure. I think he really does care for Scorpius, but I think that in the end the relationship won't survive the harsh light of day. I think he's just too insecure.

Thanks for the review!
