Hi, Kaitlin. One more Ravenpuff review!
I chose this because you focused on Luna's mind movement. It's sad she had to say good-bye to Neville. They are adorable in the film, the last scene after Voldemort's fall.
It's natural for her that she realized her dream wasn't there with Neville. He was going to be a teacher at Hogwarts and she was going to find many rare magical creatures and gradually she would meet her life partner, Rolf Scamander.
I was very impressed by the way you focused on her inner thought. She is a good observer of both Neville and herself. Yet she is very careful and cared about Neville's future. She knew she wouldn't be by his side forever, caring his parents or his grandmother. Her nature was traveling around the world and to find the elusive Crumple Horned Snorkak , and she is also elusive for Neville, too. It's a sad parting story, but a beautiful departure for a new life.

Heya! So I owed you a review swap from like the beginning of May and I am a horrible person, but I am FINALLY here to fulfil my end of the bargain. :/
Wah! Neville/Luna are about the only non-canon ship that I like, so it's horrible to see them sunk like this. But I liked what you did here. I think it's very realistic. Often two people come together for a reason, and as time goes by, that reason disappears. We're always growing, and sometimes, we just to grow towards each other.
It was nice to see how accepting both Neville and Luna were of the end of their relationship. Their was sadness and grief, but also I think a little relief. It felt like a natural end to the description of their shared past you gave us.
I think my favourite part about this little one-shot was that it read like a letter. I can imagine Luna sitting down at a train station, waiting for a train to somewhere later that evening, penning this. And then she'd just burn it, letting the ashes scatter in the wind. Seems like something Luna would do.
Thanks for the lovely read, and I'm so sorry for being so terribly slow with my end of the swap :(
Oooh, this was so horribly realistic. This is how super painful breakups usually seem to go - no one did anything wrong, really, but you stop being compatible and both start being really unhappy because you've just ceased to fit. I saw that here, and I thought that the way you presented it was heartbreakingly realistic. You really depicted both of them perfectly - traveling and adventure is absolutely who Luna is as a person, and after the fairly tumultuous upbringing Neville had, I can see stability and family becoming of the utmost importance to him, particularly as he starts to get older and more mature. It was heartbreaking in a lot of ways, but it was actually comforting and cathartic for me, because even though the moment feels horrible, they are both going to be in a better place in the long run without the relationship than they would be in it. You really did a wonderful with this.
