Hey Mel!
I'm here to leave a review for the Gryffindor Red vs. Gold Review Battle for November 2018!
This is a very much needed cute and light-hearted story. I love that Fleur takes notice of Bill in this way and that before she even actually knows him, she's already starting to change her mind about England. Definitely shows that there's a strong attraction.
I thought you did a good job of capturing the French pride. I've been to France a handful of times now and there definitely is that attitude of the French way being superior. (Although I would argue that it in cooking, it is actually superior. I mean modern day gastronomy is completely based off of the French brigadier system. And...I'm going off on a tangent. Sorry.)
I always wondered why Fleur decided to come back to England after the Triwizard Tournament. It never really struck me as her cup of tea, but I suppose if she got to know Bill a little bit before, it might've peaked her curiosity. This really makes me wonder about her ending up at Gringotts. Did she end up there because Bill got her the position? Did she get it on her own, but knowing that Bill worked there? Was it all mere coincidence? So many possibilities.
This piece really made me smile. Good work!

Bonjour! (I hope you're not already sick of me.)
I couldn't resist this story, because it's Fleur Delacour, and I've always had a soft spot for her (which probably has something to do with the fact of her being French, and me being a total Francophile) and talking about France and home and all of those different threads, because I relate a lot to them having lived abroad. Anyway, yes, I couldn't resist this story and I enjoyed it so much!
The French in this! I don't know if you speak it, but I loved the tiny things that you included like the way that she called her parents maman and papa, which is a little detail but one people often forget. Even the structure of the sentences in the family's dialogue felt kind of French to me - there was just something in the way the words flowed that fit the language and showed they weren't all native speakers, without you having to include tons of translations. The comments on the English cooking and food made me laugh so much, because I've heard a lot of them in person, and the French certainly don't hold back in their opinions of our food - particularly the way we cook meat :P
The thoughts that Fleur had about home and how much she was looking forward to going back to France were all great, too - I could really relate to them, having lived abroad myself, because it's the little things that you start to miss. And seventeen/eighteen is so young to be spending such a long time abroad, too (I know they spend time away from family at school but it's different when it's in a different country)!
I've never thought about Fleur noticing Bill before she started working at Gringotts before, but I love the idea that she actually noticed him back at this point, when she's about to compete in the final of the Triwizard Tournament. That really shows something about her character - a bravery and determination, and a willingness to take risks that I can't help admire her for. I suppose that she's had to show all of those to be Beauxbatons' champion already, but this is in a different respect, and I really like the idea that she makes up her mind at this point to get to know Bill, way before there's anything else here to make her stay. That takes guts, and I can't help admiring her for it!
Sian :)
