I love reading your unique persepctives. You really flesh out Dudley's side of the story. There were some things in here that I never considered before. For example, the Dursleys lied to Dudley as well. Never thought about that, but that's true! How did Dudley take that? Or Dudley pondering about the Aunt and Uncle he never met. Or how since his parents were so focused on Harry, they should have spent less time hating Harry and more time genuinely loving Dudley. Interesting things to think about.
You chose a disjointed writing style, and it works well. This story is a mash up of Dudley suffering from the dementors, Dudley's POV of Harry fighting off the dementors, and how he feels about all of it. And as the story progresses, Dudley becomes more aware of who Harry truly is and how Harry should be treated. I love the ending -- Dudley's eyes are opened to how his parents are so quick to blame Harry for what happened to Dudley, when it was Harry who saved him, and how his parents don't believe a word out of Harry's mouth. Dudley realizes in the end that his parents' doting nature combined with their fear has made them blind to the truth. And only Dudley can see that truth (besides Harry) but he can't voice it. I love it! It's such a good plot thing (there's probably a word for it, but i don't know it) of a character wanting to do something and normally could but can't in that moment.
Overall, I have enjoyed this piece, as well as many others of yours. The writing style was unique and you've done marvelously well to flesh out a minor character in a new light.
Alwynse for RvG March.
