Hello!
That's certainly an interesting speculation--I can totally see the new 'Golden Trio' (or, the 'New Trio', as it may be) being Neville, Luna, and Ginny upon returning to Hogwarts under Snape's Headmastership. I can also see Ginny being 'untouchable' in the sense that she's with Harry--savior of the world and all that. Understandably, she's lonely, though it's impossible for Harry to return at this point. Luna and Ginny are sweet together, and I really love the innocence of the whole scene. And then it's so bittersweet and a little heartbreaking, what with Luna being taken and the whole wrap up to the war (which was bittersweet in itself), Especially given her previous situation with Tom Riddle from her first year, and, of course, everything else that has happened in between, I can imagine that Ginny would have felt great relief in his demise and Harry is finally free of him, safe to return to society. I think that's what makes the repetition of 'two friends taking comfort in each other, nothing more' even more powerful. It's the end of the Ginny x Luna ship, but it's still lingering in the end as a memory.
Excellent!
