This put a big smile on my face! I love the idea that the potions Snape mixed caused him to hear in puns! hahaha And that they just became more and got crazier as the story went on! There was actually a line that made me sad for a moment too, about Remus not having been the monster of bullies, but he'd been there. That's so true and sad to think about, and even though Remus probably wanted to stop his friends at times and maybe even tried, Snape still would see him as someone who was there to witness his humilations and do very little to help. Then again, Snape was probably horrible to Lupin, so, and on purpose, too. Anyway, the photo capture at the end is hilarious, so glad someone was smart enough to remember to do that! My favorite pun I think was "Snape in the grass"! Really great job coming up with all those puns, too! I don't think I could do it!
Author's Response:Thanks so much! I'm glad to make you smile (did you read this before or after The Smile I Gave Her? LOL) Yes, that line was bittersweet. I really try to put some heart into things even if it's riddikulus... :P
It does go back and forth though, they both tormented the other I'm sure.
It was very hard, but I'm very proud of it.
Thanks so much!

Hi, Heather.
Here is the review I promised you a few minutes ago. :)
This certainly qualifies as a goofy story, all right. Snape is the perfect subject for this potion mishap. Any Muggle health professional would know that you always need to be aware of potential medication interactions, and Snape just ran into a doozy, although in the end it seems to have been harmless (except to his pride). He must really hate these Christmas holday booze parties if he takes such risks with mixing potions.
I read the story through 2 or 3 times, and I'm wondering if all those puns were actually spoken, or did the potions just make Snape think that he was hearing them? Either way, it was funny. And just fine that you didn't go any farther because this was just the perfecl length for something so ridiculous. As any good comic knows, "Leave 'em laughing."
A fun story. Thank you for writing.
Author's Response:I may go back and make sure I was clear about the potion effects in the beginning. You're not the first person who wonders that. He says them and hears them. The others aren't actually saying it, unless plausibly coincidental.
Yes, if anyone, Snape would take any measures to avoid Christmas parities, especially if Lupin was going to this one! He probably knew the risks hypothetically but took the potions anyway because he was that desparate lol. What he might not have considered is the effect of alcohol with the potions... I agree, if I had written it any longer it would have been too much, I love puns and enjoyed writing this for a friend, but it was getting harder and harder to think of good puns with a plausible plot. I think it was perfect that I ended it with him passed out. How else really? lol.
I'm glad you thought it was funny!

This was such a clever story. I can’t believe the number of puns you squeezed in. It definitely put a smile on my face and made me giggle all the way through.
Poor Severus, mixing potions is always a bad idea, but it looks like Hagrid might have done the same thing or perhaps he’s always more verbally eloquent after a pint or two.
“Oh, my goodness! Did Dumbledore just say he looked like a stuffed vulture hat? Surely that was a coincidence. He wouldn’t have brought that up if he knew the truth? Would he?
I like the comparison of being in trouble like a Potter in Potions class. At least it wasn’t a Longbottom on Potions class. That would be an absolute disaster.
From the pun about Quid-itch to the end is my favorite part. The puns just flow naturally and are well thought out.
Nice job.
Author's Response:LOL I can't believe how many I squeezed in either! It was a fun challenge that a friend put me to because she loved puns so much :P
I love them too :D
So, the potions Snape mixed not only made him say puns but also hear people respond in puns. I might go back to make sure that's more clear. That's why it sounded like Dumbledore and Hagrid said what they did.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it, it was really fun to write!

Heather! I am here for puns! And also Severus Snape trying not to be funny. LOL! Oh my gosh, this is the BEST THING ALREADY because he’s already doing it IN HIS HEAD!!!
Oh, you leave poor Hagrid alone, Severus! The man has done nothing to you, and he knows a heck of a lot more than you give him credit for! I wonder if Hagrid’s pun just came out that way in Severus’ head, or if Hagrid really did that to him, because that would be a brave, brave move, Hagrid.
Snape-in-the-grass????
Hahahaha!
I think you’ve nailed this sardonic guy really well. I do enjoy a well-written curmudgeon, and you’re acing it! And at the end, when he just couldn’t take it anymore and the words just kept spilling out of his mouth. I feel sorry for the people who had to witness it, but at least they got a good picture out of it! Wish I had my own copy!
I’ll be chuckling about this for a little while longer.
Great stuff!

Author's Response:LOL I'm really glad you enjoyed this. It was a silly request from a friend of mine back in the day. I'm pretty sure that the pun came out that way in Severus' head, not from Hagrid, but I sorta wish it was LOL
Severus deserves what he gets here lol It must have been pretty funny to those around him actually, especially Lupin. I'm so glad you enjoyed it and that it will keep you chuckling. I do wonder if Snape will remember any of this or if the memory is wiped... It would be funny if Lupin referenced it one day and Snape is all like... I thought that was a bad dream! LOL
Thanks for the review,
Heather
Heather! *throws snowball*
I love puns! I will never not love them. I love punny fics. And Snape as a protagonist for such a fic is just an extra funny situation.
Gosh, I love the idea of two potions having side effects from interacting with one another, but like, SILLY side effects like this. You don't see it enough.
The thing I cannot stop laughing about is "Ma-Damn! Rosmerta!" I hear it in my head like "dayum, girl!" especially bc Rosmerta is canonically supposed to be pretty attractive. XD
Harry Christmas!!
Melanie
Author's Response:LOLOL I know, I had forgotten about that pun when I went back to edit it and I almost didn't understand it, it took me a minute LOL But yeah, I thought about Harry and Felix Felicis and how silly it was in the movie and thought, THAT needs to happen with Snape somehow :D
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
