Hi, Lost Robin. It's always fun to see more news coming out of Toadopolis, that architectural wonder for amphibians, which grew out of the Weasley brothers' swamp (if my memory serves me), which was supposed to be only temporary, but like so many other temporary constructions, attained a level of permanence, thanks to perpetual maintenance.
I notice that Orla says, "I hope that Toadopolis will grow far beyond what it is today," but farther down in the newsletter she mentions that there is considerable resistance among its inhabitants to the proposed expansion, so who knows how it will end up? Kind of reminds you of the articles in the traditional media about whthert we should let newcomers join our cozy community, or whther the "outsiders" will ruin the community. Sad.
Has anyone asked why Aeron Jones was walking around in his bedroom slippers so far away from the common room or dormitories of Hufflepuff House? If he had been wearing his proper shoes, with laces that tied, he probably would not have lost one of them, and this whole issue of the traffic blocakge and the extrication effort could have been avoided. Perhaps Toadopolis could send him a bill for the costs involved in saving and rehabilitating (to the extent that was possible) the slipper. Just a suggestion.
A fun little piece. I hope we will see more newsletters from the City of Toads.

Hello!
I've been making my way through the holiday gifting season and thought I'd stop by this tale - the title made me really smile! Toadopolis is such a fun word, haha!
Omigosh an entire newsletter dedicated to the toads in the swamp is just simply hilarious!! How ever did you come up with that!!! The whole tale had me in splits throughout.
Errant slipper - haha - I bet Aeron Jones might not quite want his slipper back. 'Glacial pace' OMG - this is getting better and better. Diplomatic relations between Toadopolis and Hifflepuff House - hahahahaha!
Deirdre is clearly new at this! I like her voice though, it's got personality. 'Intrepid journalist' haha! I wonder what it was that Orla didn't want to print, hmmmmmmm.......
Ahh overpopulation issues have hit the toady swamps as well, *shakes my head feeling for the toads*, that's a hard crisis to solve, it's no wonder the Mayor wants to remain silent on the matter.
I'm definitely in favor of the proposed law. We do want to extend the life of our toads and Toadopolis, and natural materials definitely aid that cause. In fact, some studies have shown health hazards to pipe cleaners that include severe skin discoloration and wart growths as well as causing air pollution. We need to support this law and pass it for a better tomorrow for the next generation!
This has been a phenomenally entertaining read, thank you so very much for writing it and sharing it with us!!

It cracks me up how much Toadopolis news you can drum up! Including traffic jams and diplomatic relations with the student body. (Lol at the real time traffic updates!)
Love seeing Toadopolis thriving, keeping predators out, and moving towards more sustainable resources! :)
Toadopolis is 100% canon as far as I'm concerned!
Author's Response:Thank you so much for stopping by! Happy Winter!
Toadopolis will always be canon in our hearts, and, obviously, in this. Because this is toadally canon. :p
I had a lot of fun coming up with the articles. I wanted to do a few more, but I'm not great at journalism-style writing (not yet! working on it!). The traffic jam came about because we have a lot of traffic jams in my area, and it seems like they'll update us even when nothing's changed.
I always think that I'm never going to write something for Toadopolis, and then I'm back at it again. I'm noticing a trend in my own writing for it, and I'll have to start looking up other epistolary categories to use in the future. Maybe I'll write the op-ed I thought about putting in here...
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a lovely day!
