I love that even though I'm fandom blind, having read Fish for Pearls I feel like I have at least a very good idea of both Wuxian and Wangji, which makes it easy to approeciate this chatfic now too. :)  Wuxian's emphatic energy and mischievous sort of attitude and what seems like a penchant for pestering Wangji. (Everyone is right, why doesn't he just call or text Wangji??? lol. I think he kind of likes the silliness of doing this in front of everyone. Kind of makes me think of a kid in class poking at another kid to get either their reaction or just a reaction from literally anybody around them, hah.) And then Wangji's very calm/understated response finally at the end there, I like to imagine he was watching this entire chat unfold from the beginning without saying anything. :joy:

Okay. This seriously had me laughing so hard. I'm vaugley familar with this drama, it's been on my list for a while - but that list just keeps growing and growing XD Anyways you've got me hooked on these characters because they are freaking chaos and I live for it. The bit about sending soup through the post XD And his answer is amazing because like...I bet you could but...like...just don't. How can that end well XD And Jiang Wanyin's bit about thinking the pining would ever stop or that he created the chat for anything other than bitching XD

LOL Laura this is so funny! I love how you're able to capture the essence of these characters in this chat format so effortlessly. Like Nie Huaisang's languorous nature and Wei Wuixan's chattiness and Lan's MIA-ness. The whole set up of this was thoroughly amusing and just an overall delight to read. I also loved the "drop your phone in a pond," nod to that ACTUALLY happening in Fish for Pearls hah. 

 

Anyway, I really enjoyed this story and I see there is a TBD attached to it so I am pretty excited to see what happens next here. :) An excellent read!
