laura! hello hello, here for some tag :)
i loved this. your writing is always so beautiful and it's so easy to picture the scenes in my head whenever i read anything from you, and this is no exception. from the very beginning you can feel the beating of the heart and i love how it parallels to the rhythm of the clock, and how it all comes back to the clock striking midnight. time seems prominite here but it also seems to slow down while these two people are together
and i loved how the narrator seemed to come to life, to bloom just for that one person in a very literal sense. i got the sense that they're coming back into themselves, from the way they talk about missing their blonde hair and how they've come back to it - and isn't that wonderful, when we find people who help us bring ourselves back to who we were/want to be?
everything about this piece feels so vivid and alive; and i love how you let these characters have some feminity to them while also being strong - it's so so great and definitely one of my favorite things
excellent job with this, friend! <3
Hi Laura, here for some OF review tag!
I love how this is poetic, what with your choice of phrases strung together and your repetition of certain words. Beyond sounding cool and providing emphasis, I think it definitely plays into the vampire element of this story. So much has changed as time progresses endlessly, but things also stay the same within these minute changes. It sort of reminded me of a record stuck on a particular part of a track. I imagine there is a feeling of being "stuck," when you're a vampire too. I don't know if that was a point you intended to make by using repetition, but that was my big take away from your usage of it. :)
The way you also blend soft, feminine things with strong, tough things, really gave this impression of strong feminity in this character, which I really just loved. It also played into this idea of being soft for the right person or making concessions (like changing your hair color) for the right person, which gave off this romantic vibe as well.
And the way our MC manuvers in that last scene towards the one they love/are into was so atmospheric. I loved the image of candlight everywhere. I loved the concept of this warm yet snowy sort of night and a private dance among two people. It is absolutely intimate and captivating wiht the way you paint that end scenes.
(Also vampires coming to life/blossoming imagery for the right person. I'm all for that romantice dynamic. <3)
Anyway, fabulous job on this!

Hi Laura! I'm doing the flash review thing to catch up on All The Things, so I apologize for my brevity. <3
This is such a captivating snapshot, just a teeny little moment in time, maybe only seconds? which you manage to flesh out into this living image, all the senses engaged and immersed. Even though we don't know anything about these two, we feel the sparks and the importance of this moment.

Hey Laura!! Here with a gift review for the arctic event <3
I'm fascinated by this collection of flash fiction pieces with Russian titles, so rich with description. The ambiguity of this piece intrigues me; I can't understand the title (I tried to Google translate it without success, haha!), so everything is laid open to interpretation and I apologise if I've missed the mark. There's something beautifully chilling about the opening words - a beat and life - a second; and life again - the taking of life rather than giving, and how the lives accumulate and blend into each other. The metallic taste of blood, the death-straight hair ... who are they? Who is 'she' who they are going to meet - a lover? A former lover? Is she alive? The heels and dress and hair - whoever she is, she's important to the protagonist. Has she passed on or is she about to pass on?
Your description, as always, totally blows me away. So much imagery, and sound - man, I can almost smell this piece of writing <3 I'll be back to review more of this collection very soon.
Happy holidays! <3
