hi jen! i'm here to judge for my challenge - thanks so much for entering it!
man, i haven't watched the dead poet's society in a long time. it took me a moment to get back into the universe, but you did a great job of catching me up and putting me in the most devastating part of the film. my heart breaks for todd, who wants nothing more than to save his friend, the boy he's in love with, and i think you did a great job with showing todd's need to go back and save him
it's a hard truth that todd has to deal with, but i think it was good that you showed that sometimes, no matter what, we can't save the people we love - sometimes they're suffering too deeply for us to understand and see them. in a way, i'm glad that he didn't magically save neil - it feels like a more realistic ending, no matter how heartbreaking it was. and you did a great job with showcasing the grief amongst the friends, especially in the beginning, and how they're all coping in different ways
this was a unique take on the challenge, and thank you so much for entering! i enjoyed reading it ♥
