Deni your imagery is absolutely stunning! The way you describe Yvaine and her dress and the glittering snakes...it’s gorgeous! And our narrator’s internal monologue is so dark and jaded. But watching a person you love marry someone else would totally drum up these emotions, so I found the whole thing totally realistic. And it makes that first line punchier. Also I imagine she feels some sibling rivalry.

I love the bit with Regulus. You can tell they have a bond beyond all the politics of the war. They care for one another.

And the bit with Remus at the end. I don’t know much about your OC here, but I suspect she’s something of a double agent from this interaction? And then at the end, we see her hooded, showing the darker side of what she does.

hello it is down in flames here to review up in flames

(i’ve been thinking about that line for a while now and i’m more proud than i should be of it)

ok pulling off pretending like you’re listening when you’re really not is indeed a skill, and it’s a great one to have

also apparently we’re just taking turns singing taylor swift songs while reviewing, bc “i can feel the flames on my skin” has me singing i did something bad and i am absolutely not mad about that

ok am i detecting a hint of regulus/barty here or am i reading wayyyyy too far into one line

“I watch as the emperors of our world fiddle while Rome burns.” i’m going to fixate on this line for the rest of forever because holy shit i love it so much al;j;hgoariejfhnrga

alright. so that was my live reaction and now i’m going to comment on the thing as a whole because HOLY SHIT. i am SO HERE FOR THIS REBOOT.

so first of all, cassie. she’s obviously much darker this time around, which is really a feat bc she was a very angsty character in the og to begin with. so she’s already a death eater, but she’s clearly got some pretty obvious regrets about the whole situation. is this the first time she’s acted as an informant to save people on the other side, or is this a thing she’s done before?

also ahhhhh there’s history between cassie and sirius, and i cannot wait to find out what it is. the idea that they were in love and that she still loves him clearly suggests something pretty significant in their history, and i need to know what it is.

also i just really love fancy pureblood culture, i think it’s because i’m just a super bougie bitch and i like fancy things, but there’s something so satisfying about reading it - even though you know the people in it are, for the most part, hella shitty people. i just like them for the shiny things.

(this review is starting to descend into incoherence. i wish i had something to blame it on this time but i’m only one glass of wine deep so this is just my standard level of utter nonsense.)

also who tf is cassie engaged to???

also idk why i got so excited about the mere mention of james potter in one singular line of this but i definitely did

anyways i am thrilled about this and am dying to know more so i will almost definitely be back for more whenever it’s posted <3

Deni!!! <3

Well, I couldn't resist to check out Yaxley 2.0, now could I? :P (Here for the fairyland, too)

Okay, but... wow... I wasn't expecting this... she's a Death Eater??? :O And she's engaged? And... Okay, breath...

There are so many things I'm wondering about... mainly, what happened with Sirius and why she didn't escape like she was planning to. I'm sure you'll let us know later, and I'm also sure that it wasn't exactly a free decision, but also... it makes me a bit sad?

It's nice to see that she has a bit of a confidant in Regulus (you know I have a soft spot for Regulus, don't you?) Or at least that they have this understanding between them. And of course they are linked by their love for Sirius, even if they are not supposed to... wow, it's all such a complicated mess already, but that's the reason I'm already loving this so much!

Your descriptions were to die for, btw! I loved the way you wrote the wedding, all the details of the food and the jewels and just the pomp that always surrounds pureblood society. You picture it all so well!

And aww... Remus... he's too cute... <3 He finally remembers to question me, a whole thirteen seconds after James would have. I don't know why, but I loved this line! I love the way you write him, the conflict between wanting to trust her but knowing that they are on opposing sides... again, it's so complicated...

I hope no one finds out that she warned them, btw. I have a feeling it would get her into trouble... I wonder if she'll end up being a double agent, or something? Ahhh, I'm so intrigued already!!!

Wonderful job as always, my dear! <3

Snowball hug,

Chiara
