Hi there!
What a sweet fic! I loved the contrast between the two proposals and the fact that they both had a go at proposing too. They were so similar, it was rather amusing, especially the way they both reacted. They both thought it was a joke at first, and I can see why at 14, and I suppose with the way the law is, why Sirius thought it was a joke the second time around.
It was very cute though, and I'm glad they talked about it, and Remus finally managed to explain himself. I think it's actually nicer that even though they might not be able to marry legally, they both still want to, that feels like a whole different level of love and dedication.
This was a really great fic!

DOTTIE!!!
Hello, my darling! :D
I thought I'd stop by your AP with a little gift for your wishlist (as well as a thank you for being awesome! <3) It was really hard to choose what to pick, because you page is so full of things and all seem so interesting... but then I saw this, a Wolfstar proposal, and I just couldn't resist it! And I'm so, so glad I chose this one! <3
Aww... those two idiots... look at them! They are just too cute for words! I've been chuckling and tearing up a little throughtout the whole piece, it's just so so adorable!
I absolutely loved how the two sequences mirrored each other! I loved Remus' POV in both, and how he watches Sirius and how that makes him feel... the reference about Sirius' long hair was a tiny detail, but one that I loved because it really shows the care you used in building this... two-shot? I guess? Is that a thing? Sorry, I'm rambling uselessly as usual! :P
Poor, poor Remus... it must be so hard for him, being forced to think about all his dreams that will never come true... at the same time, I want to yell at him for being so stupid! Can't he see that Sirius truly loves him? That it isn't just a "well, we are both not straight, sort of, we should get together". But I can also understand his reaction to an extent. I suppose Sirius is the kind of unpredictable, crazy person who would just blurt out things like that without really meaning it... or give that impression... I loved this paragraph: Sirius reaches out to rest a hand on his knee, breaking into his thoughts. When he speaks, his voice isn't gentle like James' would be or afraid of saying the wrong thing like Peter's would. There's a kind of unshakable confidence that only he has when he says, "That will never happen. I mean it, Remus. You'll always have a place with me." It just feels very much Sirius, if you know what I mean! :)
Speaking of which... that whole "I'll never permit that you won't have a roof over your head" thing... it's just the sweetest thing ever? I mean, everything about this story is the sweetest thing ever, but I just absolutely love the care Sirius has for Remus and has always had. When even when he thought Remus was breaking up with him, his first thought was "you can keep the cottage"... oh, my heart! I just want to hug them both so much, you know?
Another favourite line from part 1: "We could just skip that step all together. Just follow James wherever he goes, be his next door neighbors. Peter can be on the other side."
And one more: But there are nights when Sirius slips into his bed and they talk about how they're both just a little bent, feeling less alone with each conversation, and slowly the tension eases from Remus' shoulders. Such a wonderful ending to the first section, and a lovely way to ease us into the thirteen years later!
I honestly can't believe that Sirius misunderstood Remus' words so immensely! :P Sure, from a reader's POV who'd just finished reading the previous scene, the pattern was obvious, but I guess it wouldn't be so for Sirius, coming so out of the blue when he's still half asleep... :P And, well, Remus did choose a torturous way to ask him... it could definitely be misunderstood... :P I did feel Remus' panic so strongly, though! And, oh my Merlin, Sirius was being so overdramatic! I could definitely share the "will you just shut up" sentiment! :P
But it all turned out well, thank goodness! Despite the obvious shock... I didn't even think about the legal aspect of the matter, but of course gay marriage has been illegal till not so long ago, so that makes total sense. I love that the Ministry is discussing it, though, and that Lily is one of the proponents of the change! I really hope it will all work out! <3
"Of course I would. Finally get to see you in a proper suit, mmm." / Remus grins, poking at him and getting his hands playfully slapped away for the trouble. "Who said I'd wear a suit?" Okay, you're hilarious! :D
I'm not sure if this review makes any sense at all, but I hope it was clear that I adored this! Every little detail of this! You have such a lovely style, and your characterization was so beyond perfect! And of course, I needed all the warm feels, so thank you! <3
Big snowball hug, my love!
