NOTHING ELSE IN THIS CHAPTER MATTERS EXCEPT FOR THAT FINAL CHAT, TAYLOR! ~No I will not be taking feedback at this time, tysm~ Peter, Remus, and Sirius finally NOTICING James & Lily being ~weird~ in the kitchen with the ass slap & lack of reaction from Lily, jfc these boys are thick as cinder block walls :facepalm: BUT FINALLLYYYY!! Anywho I will actually talk about the rest of the chapter bc the girls’ group chat was super supportive of poor marlene who has no idea what’s going on with her and dorcas anymore, which, honestly, valid of her, and lily and mary do their best to help her figure shit out. On the flip side, Sirius getting baked AF and then trying to actually bake and failing miserably is funnier to me than you probably thought it was when writing it, but the fact that Lily is then planning to come over later that day to legitimately bake is great. Loved this chapter and that we’re finally acknowledging James and Lily!!! :D

Ooookay so this is better for me now as we have different drama to focus on other than the lack of observational skills literally anyone in this marauders friend group has, because hoooo boy remus has a date but it’s *not* with sirius?? SPICY, taylor, SPICY!!! The A:tLA chat in this chapter made me happy toooo because the opinions they all have are very similar to my own about the episodes discussed, lol. I’m pretty sure I legit cried in the sad appa episode...but anyway the opening with drunk lily texting literally any of the boys except the one she is actually trying to contact reminds me of friends in college who’d be trying to reach other friends to pick them up but reaching me or another friend instead :joy: Also did Lily *actually* sleep on James’ floor or is that just their agreed upon cover story?? YOU KILL ME WITH THIS SUSPENSE, TAYLOR!!

Hello i still cannot take the fact the friend group is so fucking oblivious to james and lily…..mary and peter LITERALLY being all like “they choose badly to be surrounded by couples” and shit just makes me go like *gestures widely at the evidence and pulls out my hair* so i hope you’re enjoying my pain immensely, taylor. Anywho i’m so glad marlene & dorcas are getting on again and are doing well enough that marlene feels comfy enough to invite dorcas to group-only things and also to add her to the big group chat. <3 sometimes bad breakups don’t have to stay bad forever!! The drunken shenanigans you come up with for this ridiculous group of friends to go on is truly never ending, how can you think of so many different things for them to do?? I mean, I know some of these are things you’ve probably done or did in college or something (i was a lameo and went to the bars like three times in college, lol) but still, these are truly creative and also fit so well with the personalities of whoever is involved in said drunken shenanigans. And then we got some planning for Valentine’s day and WTF HOW do they NOT KNOW james and lily are a thing!!? *screaming into the void* this is getting ridiculous taylor, i s2g I don’t even know how much longer i can take the friend group completely ignoring james and lily doing very couply things!

I love the beginning of this chapter where peter is all like, wtf is happening, am i in an alternate universe (heh) where the residents of this house are up in the morning and are out doing things on a sunday?? Also the sneaky lily’s going to a movie solo & james also going to a movie “solo” is great and i’m honestly surprised their friends haven’t figured them out yet at this point. Like, it’s too fucking coincidental! But i do still love how much they can get away with because their friends aren’t picking up the obvious clues and also because they are such good friends so it’s gonna have to be a bigger moment for james & lily to get ~together~ before the friend group will catch on, no? AtLA fuck yes taylor, i love your choices for everyone’s chat names because that is exactly what i would have chosen for them all too lol! I need more AtLA group chat next chapter pleaseeee

I’m back hello hello this is a great chapter omg i don’t even know what to really say besides this was peak friends wanting to gossip but also for their friends to be happy?? Like, Lily and Mary truly want Marlene to feel better about being exes with Dorcas and dealing with it in a way that isn’t catastrophic all the time, and the boys also would probably like the friendship circle to be less awkward whenever Dorcas does appear at large group events. Also i love that lily and james (lol i mistyped james and it autocorrected to jeans) decided to go on a fake date during marlene & dorcas’s meetup chat thing and while their conversation was especially civil, james is a doofus and almost gets him and lily kicked out. :joy: classic jily situation there, I’d say. Loving how everyone is getting along at the end!! :)

Okay since you ended this chapter with an authors note indicating where all the james and lily texts are that is next on my to-read list for fics of yours bc this chapter alone is ridiculously missing them!! But I do love everyone’s banter as they’re getting ready for the party & I like your integration of “images” in the chats without just straight up describing them in full detail; the text messages give us enough detail to go off of to enhance the story without overdoing it on unnecessary commentary. Also Lily and James not being able to be found? How coincidental, is it not? Hmm hmm hmm :thinkingface: Poor Marlene, too, I’m glad she’s at least got Remus for company and he’s doing his best to keep her pepped up! Peter really needs to be babysat too, yikes hun :joy:

hi taylor, back again for the fairy event!
ooh, i am getting more and more intrigued as to what happened between marlene and dorcas. obviously it was enough to hurt marlene badly enough that she kinda avoids seeing her (understandably so) but i also think it was very mature of them to be able to sit down and have a civil conversation. and getting the live updates as lily and james saw them was absolutely hilarious, including james stealing lily's phone but mary knowing instantly who it is
it honestly reminds me of friends a little, i love how overly invested they are in each other's love lives and that lily will, in fact, step in to be backup for marlene if she thinks it's warranted
i do gotta know what happened though, i have so many questions
lmao, the second someone said 'death by a thousand cuts' i too started singing it in my head, so definitely don't blame lily for that. i feel like it's kind of universally accepted at this point :P
and of COURSE james went after her, like come on, do we really think that no one knows what's going on with them? :nudge nudge: well, i hope i'm right anyway, but i guess i'll have to keep reading to find out!

Okay remus being all “handling delicate situations is not your strong suit” at sirius is perfect and so bluntly true that I’m almost glad sirius didn’t get a rebuttal text in there, lol. :joy: ngl i didn’t read the chat names close enough in part two so i was like “who tf is inez” until i scrolled back up and read it properly, so, go me i guess :facepalm: Also I love that you started and ended this chapter with remus & sirius chats because it’s something like poetic cinema that sirius gets called out in the first one then remus gets called out in the second one for inviting dorcas last time. I wonder if Lily was checking with James if he wanted to go or whatever before she said she was in for the prewett’s party that weekend? Mystery abounds but also so does hilarity!

howdy taylor, i'm back for more of this delightful story and also the fairyland event!
i'm all for drunken shenanigans, and the fact that they've managed to lose lily - after they had an entire conversation about how she was the easiest to find because of her red hair - is absolutely hilarious. and i'll admit that i've never been to a white lie tee shirt party but it sounds like so much fun, and all of the shirt sologans everyone came up with were so fucking in character
and ugh, poor marlene, running into her ex at a party where she didn't even realize they knew each other, i can only imagine
taylor, i'm absolutely giggling at mary's 'this is going to be a questionable take' to peter and then lily just happens to disappear, like come on, girl is obviously getting some (AND I'M PRETTY SURE IT'S WITH JAMES, THEY ARE JUST NOT THAT SNEAKY XD) and it's hilarious that mary's running around trying to catch her all night up until the end where she realizes she's talking to herself

Hi Taylor! It’s me again for the review event.
I love how the title of the group chat is now “how are we all still alive” because it’s just so funny and I love it. Also the self-awareness enough to title the chat this without actually changing anything to be alive without having to question that continuation is funny and also entirely real.
The things written on their shirts are absolutely hilarious and every single one made me laugh extremely hard. Especially James’s shirt… it kind of sounds to me like he could be pining, especially if he’s saying he’s staying by Lily’s side all night.
That time Lily and James were handcuffed together sounds very funny and also very much like something I could see drunk students thinking is a good idea and a fun time. Also you did a good job showing Lily’s snark about how she didn’t like it pouring out. “Thank you for hitting the lowest bar” I can’t bahahah.
Also it is very true that height is very helpful from a distance.
I love the banter between them over the allegations of Lily eating all their food. I’m beginning to see why they might be calling Lily “freeloader” in the group chat title and why her defense is only “I live somewhere else”. “Update she pushed me anyways” this is so funny I love it.
Wow Remus is not doing a very good job AT ALL of acting like he had no idea Dorcas was going to be at the party. No wonder Marlene figured out that he was lying right away. “I can see you running away from me” running away is a valid reaction tbh.
I also feel like James and Lily would make a good couple. I’m also very interested to know where they disappeared to. Part of me thinks that Lily’s “how dare you” at the end is an attempt to feign innocence, especially since there seems to be mention of a lot of bedrooms.
I loved this and I will be back for the next chapter (and then the spinoff after I finish this) shortly!

Okay I can definitely see why Dorcas has suspicions about Marlene and also I love that Remus was just like “oh dear” and messaged Sirius like “you’re not good with advice but everybody else will leak it and that won’t do”. I love how salty Sirius is about not being Remus’s first choice for advice when we’ve seen from the first two chapters that he’s… probably not the best person to go to for advice. Love that Sirius continues to be salty while channeling James.
I really liked the chat between the three women. I can definitely understand why Marlene is spiraling over her ex who she is still in love with and I think the other two did a pretty good job at offering good advice to her.
I love how Lily is like “why are you considering getting drunk again also yes I’m coming” because oh dear no wonder Remus’s nickname is what it is.
“Is he wrong though” savage, but also entirely understandable if she’s doing tons of research. But also savage. I love your ability to write these guys.
I love the fact that Marlene requested her death if Dorcas came to the party, and that it was followed immediately after by Dorcas telling Sirius that she was coming to the party. I think Remus’s reaction of “oh dear god uh oh uh oh uh oh” is entirely appropriate and also I laughed very hard at his messages to Sirius. You definitely ended this chapter at a great spot and I think chapter 4 is going to be amazing.

I love how absolutely chaotic everyone is in this chapter. This was so much fun to read (and the sass/snark. Super funny and so good).
I can definitely understand Marlene’s drunk texting of Dorcas, being too afraid to check the message to see what she said, and then Dorcas replying and Marlene being like “oh no”. Also I love the drunk message that she sent – it sounds exactly like the kind of thing you would send someone you’re pining over when you’re drunk.
Hangover-resistant alien was a absolutely hilarious turn of phrase.
I love how Lily is resistant to the idea of what seems to be one aspect of being a mom friend (although with this lot I think being the mom friend involves strategically placed garbage cans lined with garbage bags and periodic reminders to drink water in between alcohol) and they’re all like “um no you wanted this”.
I love the hint of sass in the last chat between James and Lily.
This was a great chapter and I will be back for chapter 3 in *checks watch* approximately ten minutes!

Okay first of all I love their nicknames, especially the fact that Remus’s is “these nicknames are stupid”. The sass. Also Sirius’s reaction to realizing that he is on jello shot duty is the best and I love it.
“Lily no ur not responsible enough for that” is the best chat nickname I have ever seen.
Okay I stand corrected “the stress of supervising all of you will cause my early death” is the best nickname ever. I love your creativity in coming up with these.
The discussion about showing up at 8 (potentially already drunk) is absolutely hilarious. The banter throughout this whole chapter was just amazing and I love how sassy everyone is.
I love the little references to things like Snape still being creepy (ugh, and the fact that he’s also screwing up Lily’s work is just even worst) and it’s very like James to offer to beat James up. I love that Lily’s preferred way to get revenge is to just destroy him academically because same girl and also power move. Especially if it’s a prestigious fellowship then you advance your career. Two birds with one stone.
“I’m not freeloading I don’t even sleep there” bahahahaha love that nickname. I also think the passive aggressiveness and annoyance that Lily is feeling here was really well written and you did a great job (as usual bc this is you).
Also you did a really good job with the drunk texting, and I know this is very ironic to say because we were talking about this earlier but I will say it lol. Also bathroom cleaning duty tomorrow is the best idea bahaha.

This gave me such intense college nostalgia vibes despite the fact that i was boring and didn't even party that hard. (no, we are not surprised i know, lol.)
