Hey, I'm here with a galazy review!
This is such a cute and funny story! Not so funny for Terra being woken up the way that she was with that worrying news from LILAC. And then being told that not only were the plant hydropods four degrees above feezing, they'd been like it for seven hours. I bet a lifetime's devotion and work flashed in front of Terra's eyes then. Only for LILAC to hen inform her it was a joke, that Captain Borovitch instructed them to tell her. Yeah, not very funny. BUt what is hilarious is the death threat and the subsequent 'is that a joke' comment from LILAC, who obviously does not understand humour at all. Because computers aren't necessarily programmed to understand it.
I hope Terra gves Captain Borovitch Hell for that!
Thanks so much for the great read :)

Author's Response:Thank you.
Oh, I see you don't have any reviews on this drabble, and it's as cute as a bug's ear! I haven't read the story from which this drabble is a spin-off, but the drabble is completely accessible. Someone is playing a practical joke on someone else, but it's not really cruel. Saying that the plants were frozen, now that would have been cruel. But the plants are fine, whether at 4 degrees or at 24 degrees, and the only effect is to catapult Terra out of her bed and make her run down the hall in her pajamas.
You can't be angry at LILAC -- it's just a computer -- but Terra can sure tell the captain what she thinks of the joke. He could have given her a heart attack! When LILAC says, "Is this a joke?" we know that LILACis not a sentient thing. It will taqke Terra a while to cool off from this "joke."
This is a clever drabble, an entire mini-story in just a few words. Very nicely done. It brought a smile to my face.

Author's Response:Vicki,
I'm glad you like it. I, honestly, had completely forgotten about it and had to reread the story to remind myself what the practical joke was.
