this is definitely a unique take on rose weasley, wow! i wonder whether the person she befriended and then fell in love with was scorpius? i imagine that the malfoys could've made a lot of enemies, causing them to hurt them after the war, maybe as revenge (lbr, they angered both death eaters and the other side with their actions, so anyone seems fair game). and if rose was so in love with this person, it seems bordering on toxic obsessive love, that when they die she goes on a rampage, but it's not exactly rampage if they all died long and drawn out death, so she could enjoy their pain, it reminds me a little of anakin skywalker (random connection but it happened) - he was so mad with grief that he ended up going around murdering those who hurt his family, and it seems the same with rose. yeah, she enjoyed the pain, but i can't decide whether to label her as a psychopath or someone who was just mad with grief. definitely an intriguing plot, left me with more questions than answers hah

Hi there!

Well, this was a sad fic to read. I wonder what happened to her. It seems like she had a hard time in school and then someone she made friends with, or even fell in love with was killed? Or threatened at the very least. I wonder who that boy is, maybe Scorp? I can see the Death Eaters being very annoyed at Draco and more than happy to take it out on his son.

I don't agree with vigilante justice, especially when she's killed over 20 people, but it's a shame no one in her family has stood by her, especially if it was old Death Eaters that she's killed. You would think her parents would understand better than anyone that the Ministry can't always do their job right. Maybe not if they're now working for them?

I suppose if my original theory about it being Scorp or death eaters is wrong that that does all make sense. So who knows!

An intriguing piece though!

Hello, Olivia! Here with a little gift for your wishlist!

I picked this story because it had captured my attention already when we swapped the other day... I'm intrigued by justice drama, for some reason... I must admit, though, I wasn't expecting this to be that dark...

Anyway, I think you did an incredible job with this! Your description of her cell, the inhuman treatment she's getting, give me chills. And at the same time, I despise her. And at the same time, I feel bad for her and the reasons that made her do what she did... I'm so very conflicted about all of it... and that just goes to show how cruel people can be, how cruel society can be, at all levels. And how terrible the simple concept of revenge, of eye-for-an-eye is. If you think about it, it's just a long sequence of people trying to get justice for themselves.

And probably, the person I feel worse for in all this is Scorpius... (I believe he is the "he", right?) He was killed only because he was related to the wrong people and that's so immensely unfair... unless she's being biased and he did do something wrong... still not right that he would be mob-assaulted... :/

What I think made this even more interesting (and sad) is how Rose has practically been shunned from the family. I get the disappointment everyone would feel, I can totally picture that look in Harry's eyes that would so crush her... it still shocks me a little that Ron and Hermione would just reject her completely like that. Also, the idea that she was so smart, but not at all book-smart, and that she had to struggle so much through school, while her less smart cousins got through easily... that's another very interesting take and adds an additional layer of depth to her characterization, an additional fracture between her and her family. It's also so interesting how apathetic she seems to be in regards of her situation... she's lost her lover, and all the people who should love her now hate her, so she doesn't even have any reason to care or fight anymore... it's really heartwrenching...

This was a really incredible piece, and I love that it gave me so much to think about, even in its short lenght and mostly depressive tone/meaning. You truly did a brilliant job with it!

Hope you'll have a wonderful holiday season! <3 <3 <3

Snowball hug,

Chiara

Hi Olivia!

Ah, this was such a fascinating story!  I saw that it was marked with Rose Weasley as the main character and I was drawn in immediately - this was so compelling and chilling to read.  I don't think that I've read anything like this before, which is saying something for a story about Rose Weasley!

I immediately wanted to know why on earth Rose was locked up in Azkaban, what she'd done to find herself in chains.  I could tell from the snippets about Harry's reaction when she'd been caught that it must have been something terrible, which was also fascinating.  It made me so curious to read on and find out what had happened for Rose to be there.  It was so chilling to read about the doomed relationship between Rose and Scorpius (I assume, at least).  The fact that Scorpius seemed to have been the solace for Rose as she grew up and struggled far more than anticipated, but then he was so cruelly taken away by a vengeful reprisal against his family, for something he hadn't even been involved in.  It was kind of easy to understand how Rose might have got into that position.

I thought her characterisation was fascinating, too.  Her detachment and apathy for the fact that she's in chains and stuck in prison for her crimes were really interesting.  I kind of want to read more about this version of Rose now too, even though the story was perfect already!

Siân :)
