ok but this one took a turn i didn’t expect
i’ll be the first to say that i do not like peter pettigrew at all - he grates on me in very specific ways, so i don’t often read pieces that highlight him much. but i’m also a sucker for the deadly sins, and i wanted to see if you’d go down the same route of really digging into the prompt meaning like you did for envy (aka: a little dark, but to the point). the initial descriptions for his - well, gluttony - were really well done. i felt both hungry and a little sick, which is probably a kind of sweet spot for a piece like this. but then it all turns out to be a dream.
that’s a trope for a reason, and it’s one that can feel very trite. we’ve probably all read fics where everything’s wormed out of or ignored by the words ‘it was all just a dream’. but honestly, i think using that did this prompt much better. it’s less straightforward in the sense of, yeah, peter just ate everything. his gluttony is shown through his inability to stop gorging himself in his imagination - overextended to the point where the reality of food curbs that hunger. it’s a good point to end on.

ok i don’t know if this was Intentional or just to showcase how incredibly pale - and angry - snape is (because… boy is extremely pale), but i really like the addition of the way he burns a deep red, especially when the drabble then goes into him watching the marauders. it’s not the same as using the color green to equal envy, but it kind of intensifies it to me. the marauders are lions. he’s obsessed with looking out for them - that spot of gryffindor red - down to the way he burns. it’s Good Shit.
and ofc, i’m always here for anything that exposes snape’s entitlement towards lily. as much as i wince reading the content, i like seeking them out. it’s so vindicating. there’s already a sense of possessiveness in the way he emphasizes ‘his lily’ here, but then you get into even grosser elements. writing that he’d ‘befriended the muggleborn’ - the muggleborn, reducing her down to her blood status - def brings to light that, at the end of the day, snape sees lily as a pretty thing to own, not to mention all the yuck about her ‘being so grateful to him’.
snape is slimy af and i love this call out
