Hello again! This is such a great foundation for a story, I'm really excited to see where it goes already! There's a lot of tension and a lot of history in this room that has my interests peaked, because I feel like I can't quite get a handle on anyone or how they ruly relate to anyone else. For example, Rose does not seem even a little upset about her ex-boyfriend's untimely death, who she describes as nice at one point, so I wonder why she comes off as so cold? Is it simply because she's on the job and is that much of a professional? Scorpius and Anna are both pretty unfazed, too. It's intruiging. And obviously Abel was being followed and then murdered (presumably), so something's going on there - he's a very compelling character to want to see his background unfold. You created such an atmosphere in this chapter with your writing, it's just tense in every direction, but I don't even know why yet really, I can just feel it, though, seeping out of everyone, which is just perfect for what's going to be a crime/mystery story! Really fun start, I'll have to come back for more for sure!

Whew, this story was one wild ride, with twists I simply didn't see coming! I thought that Mr Geronimo might not have been Abel's father (or Adam's father), but I never considered the possibility of Mr Cain Geronimo's death being a fake because it was Victor that was killed...the clue should have been in the wills but I didn't spot it. And now there's this letter and I don't know whether AG stands for Anna or Adam as who is involved with what? I just...don't know anymore, haha!
I loved the budding romance between Scorpius and Rose in this story, and the insight into Rose/Hermione's relationship, the fact that Hermione wasn't squeaky clean and the drama and suspense throughout. This story really held my attention and made me want to keep reading through the chapters without pause. So much to digest and mull over. I'd love to read the sequel if you've written or are planning on writing one.

how brilliant was this? I love the whole story so much but what I really loved about it was the ending wasn't so clear cut. it looks like there is room for another adventure there. I love the morally grey characters and situation. rose tried so hard but they still got away from her which is so fruastrating but something feels very real about it? like is it the perfect ending for this story with the tiny tease of rose finally getting elizabeth, the promise of more is thrilling there. this whole story was really excited and this little chapter was the little hope needed to catch the bad guy. this story is so so clever and just so well written, congratulations of everything to do with this story! xD

anothe juicy chapter! it's all building and i'm so excited. the safe has a secret tape in very very interesting. i think rose is right, this is meant for her because honestly she in the one who uses all this muggle technology! surely Abel isn't going to handy just say who killed him??
poor anna, it's a lot to take in. everyone seems to know a bit more than they're letting go. i can't believe that she would take money away from the charity foundation like that's so low. would he kill himself over it though? wouldn't he be more likely to kill her over it instead? so whos Abel's father like that has to be important factor if it's being brought up towards the end of this story. i have too many questions! can't wait for more!

i love a flashback, i love the signs that he wasn't adam there, the little details about the wand?? is it Abel? is he alive somehow? is that even possible, idk but anna said it looked like adam but realistically it could be anyone i guess? i'm not sure but i'm hella excited about this, it's really picking up pace and every chapter is so important!
omg, this family are so crazy like they have so many issues, fighting her children. it's mental. so many emotions and tension. so it's adam's coat but not adam in the coat?? that's very interesting! whats coming next??

omg, this chapter was crazy! rose is well and truly a woman on a mission, it was quite scary at times how worked up that she was getting worked up at anna. like trying to attack her, binding her? this isn't going to look very good if she doesn't get results soon because honestly the police are after her so tying up witnesses not really helping her cause!
i did kinda love nora getting in the act and having adam tied up. she's becoming such a good asset to rose's business. i love her in the mentor role to nora. so adam didn't write the note?? this is quite the revelation considering we are 18 chapters in and rose believing it was him, or is it a bluff again? i'm very interested in this. I feel for scorpius because he's obviously not happy with rose and i kinda don't blame him either. so much going on! whats in the safe?!

I love the analogy between Rose waking up and that ripe blueberry which quickly sours.
Hugo might be right in one respect about owls being cheaper, but phones do not crap and moult feathers all over everything.
Such a tense exciting scene in Abel's office. Anna has information, otherwise how would she know that the key doesn't fit anything in the office? If she knew that, how come she didn't know how and where it was hidden? If the pendulum keeps swinging, is the caster of the curse somehow, miraculously, still alive (I'm assuming Abel here)? What will the key unlock and how will it help progress the case?
So many questions and I am dyyying to know how this wraps up!!

Oh poor Rose :( Not only is she in a cell for the night, her cell-mate snored all night and now they are wanting professional advice from her?? LOL. But then she taunts her about family tensions? Not on. Especially not when Rose has told her to stop by the office if she needs help.
Good point. WHO is trying to close this case and why? Why do they want it to be wrapped up ASAP? Abel is gone; it's not like acting quickly will save him. It seems like Rose is fighting battles on all sides here. As an aside, I wonder if her mother paid her bail or aided in her release? And why she is so against Rose's business?
I kind of think this fling with Xavier is probably over now after this latest interaction...
Glad that Hermione is reaching out to Rose and hope it's a non-judgemental hand she's offering. I don't think Rose needs any more criticism in her life right now.

yay, back for another chapter. it was different to see her interacting with her family on a somewhat social level. there are obviously a lot of emotions going on between them. she seems to have a better relationship with ron than hermione as she comments on the energy changing in the room.
it's like the seem to be having a normal conversation with each other if not a bit awkward. hugo and ron seem happy enough. i was a bit surprised to see their meeting leaving so little drama but then hermione gets her alone and we get to see some of the drama between them. the emotions were beautifully played and so much history like coming out which is really interesting. hermione knows something about all this business?? it seems like it a 'trust me' seems quite empty when something more isn't provided to back up on. rose isn't going to trust her based on her word alone.

Ooh, that flashback! :eyes: So Rose DID eventually cheat on Abel with Scorpius? Even if not that particular night. But there are a few reveals here. Rose's potentially problematic family background for one, with Hermione having to or choosing to resort to medication for something? And then becoming addicted? That must have been difficult for Rose to endure :( And the flashback also highlights that things weren't exactly a bed of roses for Rose and Abel, right?
Ugh, Xavier is a piece of work to say what he did. What's he after here from Rose? Hermione will find out about Rose being taken in for questioning, no doubt about that, but I hope she's understanding and non-judgemental about it rather than storing it for leverage in the future. Rose doesn't seem to have much of a high opinion for her mother :/

gosh, the description was the blueberry was funny, tbf but it is pretty bad when you just have something that you're really going to be dreading like all day. I guess rose has picked scorpius because he knows the details of the case because they really don't seem to be on good terms really. she doesn't really wanna let him closer to her at all (or anyone for that matter). if scorpius didn't have so much information then surely she would have picked someone else?
ahhh, back to the house and a secret key. very interesting, what does anna know? she seems to be very clever as well but maybe not quite the same way as adam and abel. i love so much how rose is putting all these pieces together. how looking for things she knows are there but doesn't know what it is? so how much are they going to tell anna? rose hasn't told scorpius some of it yet. rose can be tricky but is anna trickier?

My mind is all over the place with what might be going on in this story - such a tangled web you've woven here! Adam said he was his father's only legitimate son, which means that Anna could be his full sister OR Abel's full sister, and it could mean that Adam is the only Geronimo son, but it could also mean that Adam ISN'T Mr Geronimo's son at all, because 'his father' could refer to anyone. OMG, this is WILD!!
Rose must be suspecting everyone at this point; I know I am. I'm surprised she's in cuffs during this questioning? :( But I'm also curious as to who Rose cheated on Abel with. Scorpius???
Oh blimey, things are looking precarious for Rose at this point. She's going to have to come clean about some of the information at least. It does sound as though someone is framing her, though...

I can understand why Rose slept badly. I thought the interaction from the other cellmate was interesting and just really sets up rose and hermione's place within the world. we obviously know they are quite well known but it really shows the level of interest in them. they're in the paper and hermione came to the station. it is going to be reflecting bad on hermione but obviously rose isn't going to worry too much about them.
so what's made xavier change? he was quite happy that let rose into crime scenes but he's turned on her but he also doesn't seem to believe that she has done it. they're trying to pin something on rose which xavier doesn't seem that happy about it as hes kinda warning her about it. so i don't know if there is something more at play there must be. does the family have influence in the auror office and want rose out of the way? is Harry still invovled with Auror stuff at this point?
xavier did a good job at just reminding me about hermione's thoughts on the auror office. I remember her strong opinions about law enforcement at dumbledore's will reading. her thoughts seem not to change too much. no wonder that she's keen to get rose out of that profession but i can't imagine having much luck. rose is so stubborn. I wonder what is planning to discuss with rose though.
nora is the background star, she doesn't seem phrase at all that rose had been arrested. she's just dealing with things while getting rose some much needed coffee. so many things at play here!

So Adam HAD been in France - Rose was right about that - but he was smart enough to know that she'd concealed a tracker in his coat. And the revelation about Abel not being Mr Geronimo's son; I kind of suspected that one or more of the Geronimo kids might not have been full sibling(s) of the others. So WHO is/was Abel's father? And does that have anything to do with why Mr Geronimo and Abel were murdered?
If Mrs Geronimo is the murderer, I don't think she did it alone; either she was an accomplice (and not a great one if she failed to notice which hand was holding the wand lol), or wasn't involved in that way. Sure, there's a mystery surrounding her but I'm not sure it's the murdering one.
But now Rose has been taken in for questioning for OBSTRUCTING the murder inquiry?? The biggest question in this chapter has to be who pointed their finger at Rose??

Rose's motto seems to be 'if in doubt, go to work' haha! Seriously, does she ever take a break? This murder investigation is going to be the death of her if she isn't careful...
I must have missed the part about Rose putting a tracker into the trench coat but what a great idea it turned out to be and worth the danger of doing so. However, is the owner of the coat the murderer? Or Adam? (Or is Adam the murderer)? So many questions! And what are they doing in Diagon Alley?
Yay for the appearance of Hermione in this chapter. That damn family clock giving away Rose's location, but as Hermione pointed out, the office is the only place she can catch her daughter. And can't really talk because it's a Saturday and Hermione is also at the office!! Rose must have felt a bit embarrassed to be caught napping there though, lol.
Excited by the prospect of finding out who owns this coat in the next chapter...

Hi! Back with another galazy review!
Things are definitely hotting up here, in more ways than one. We're edging closer to the murderer and Scorpius and Rose may be edging closer to each other, but probably not without a fight or two in the way. The details that Scorpius notices about Rose are the sorts of things that people only notice if they pay close attention to someone - and people don't do that unless they have a vested interest in them. So hurrah for Scorpius having feelings for Rose!
OMG, what was that conversation about between Mrs Geronimo and Victor? Are they both embroiled in this murder? Or was this overheard conversation a bit of a red herring and nothing to do with the murder? Hmmm. And just what does Rose want to find out from Anna?

LMAO how Xavier is summarised here; 'access to crime scenes and sex'!! Also love the description of Rose's hair like lava spilling onto the white counter. And 'God' - 'nothing holy about what they were doing' LOL.
Nora seemed to have little trouble getting the documentation that Rose asked for - who benefits from the insurance policy and I wonder what the clothing brand has to do with things? Is it the trench coat brand?
There's certainly something afoot between the brothers that had been brewing for a long time; something involving the death of their father. Why was the wand in his right hand if he was left-handed? It seems to strongly suggest he wasn't responsible for any curses from it...so who did it? Or did Mr Geronimo really kill himself - in which case, why??

Hmm. I'm not sure about Nora at all. I know Hugo suggested to Rose to take her into her confidence, but there's something about her I just don't trust? Or maybe I'm just too suspicious, haha! Victor is most definitely a suspect; he must be feeling pretty weird about not inheriting the house after Mr Geronimo died and then to be left out of Abel's will too...but does he stand to inherit if Adam is found guilty of his brother's murder? I wonder who benefited from Mr Geronimo's life insurance policy?
Rose knows how to play Xavier to get some information all right, but it's a shame she'll have to wait for the documents. Maybe there's something useful in there.
The blue trench-coat is hiding out in France? So Adam was here - or was he not the wearer of the coat after all??

it is so interesting to get the flashback from hogwarts. I guess this was part of the reason why they did break up. (maybe Abel didn't know though? idk) Rose is just trying to get back at Abel mostly. It doesn't seem very healthy honestly. I feel a bit bad for scorpius in a way particularly as we know the future that Scorpius has a more serious problem with drink and stuff. I thought you did a good job with exploring some of rose's emotions in that section though.
why is scorpius risking so much for rose? he thinks that she's innocent but that's great, still means that they could both get in so much trouble. the dialogue was so good like so much tension between them! Rose really has family issues that she is arrested but doesn't want her mother to know. Does hermione have a drugs problem or did back in the day? that's v. interesting. I love how many dynamics are at play within the story. it's so vivid and rich. the plot thickens as things close around rose!
