lol i empathise with rose who has to deal with nora's shrill voice in the morning, i've got a colleague who is the same and ugh, it's the worst way to start a work day, but other than that i kinda like nora, she seems like a very capable assistant. also love love love the fact that rose uses muggle technology in her business, it's so true that wizards would forget about muggle tehcnology or not even be aware of it and what it could do/how useful it could be. and that mysterious figure seems very very shifty :EYES: hmm and anna possibly having something to with that note is interesting. omg rose citing the day she met the geronimo family as the start of the end of her relationship with abel is just,,,deliciously well done description and says so much about the family.
(for foxy glory!)
i find it interesting that anna seems so detached from everything, even joking around at the pub after the wake - her brother died and she just,,doesn't seem to be grieveing. but then again, everyone experiences grief differently, in their own way, so i don't want to judge her. i also think it's cool that the weasley potter clan, along with abel made scorpius part of their friend group - it seems like he's still anxious about his family history and i really like that they accepted him as a friend. also very much love the way you've described rose through scorpius's eyes, she really gives off this vibe of fierce determination. and i love that rose and scorpius seem to be teaming up to figure out what the hell happened to abel and how did he die :EYES:
(for foxy glory!)
i just need to say that the name abel geronimo imedaitely drew me in and it just has this ring to it that speaks of something more, like a mystery even. the story starting out at his wake, from rose weasley's point of view as his ex-girlfriend is really interesting, but the fact that he held the position of head of diversity at the ministry of magic and because of that plenty of people had it out for him has me all :EYES: oh wow and rose is a private investigator, that's hella interesting. as is scorpius malfoy, i feel like you've brought a really fresh spin on his character and i love it. and fucking hell this is a brilliant start to the story - abel was being followed so he hired rose, and made a will to malfoy and in all that he left a fuckload of money to an estranged brother this is wiiild love it
(for foxy glory!)
Hi Catherine, I’m back for more fairyland reviewing!
“That was a subject for a location with far less metal and far more sunlight.” ← More of your wonderful phrasing!
Ah man, so Rose is in hot water with the authorities — whether because she’s actually impeding their investigation, or because they’re upset she’s finding things they haven’t and knows things they don’t (even while she acknowledges there is actually cause to arrest her). Ugh, Xavier seems to really have screwed her over here; this is quite a mess. Glad she sort of gave it back to him though, when she asked whether this was because of his bruised ego.

Hi Catherine, I’m here for the fairyland reviewing event, and happy to be getting back to this story, as it has a few more chapters after the last time I was here!
I really enjoy the way you describe or phrase some things — descriptions that are deceptively simple and so effective. Like “whose name is only followed by emphatic cursing” — I love that so much! Or how Adam always says Rose’s name tersely “like a punishment.” I’m not sure it would ever have occurred to me to describe it that way, and I love it.
Oh man, yeah, Scorpius was really sitting on some important information there about changing Mr. Geronimo’s will! Can’t believe he truly didn’t think it was important at all considering what everyone knows about this family.
Adam is so irking, but it made for some great interaction between him and Rose in this scene.
Omg, I loved so much that Rose “despised being upstaged even at her own arrest.” That is just STELLAR!

Hi there!
A key? I wonder what that's for. I'm so impressed with the idea of it benign hidden in the pendulum, where he presumably knew only Rose would look. That makes me think he knew he was going to be killed, or at least knew it was a possibility. But i suppose if you're being followed that might cross your mind once or twice.
Anna has the upper hand here, and I think she knows it. I wonder if Rose has been underestimating her this whole time. I think Rose is going to have to tell her though, or how will she find out where the key is for? Hmm, interesting position. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Hi there!
Hmm, that was an interesting chapter, i feel like it's setting up for what's to come. It sounds like there is someone out to get Rose, and to ensure she is done for this murder, weather she's guilty or not. Which isn't great for her. Xavier did seem a little worried about her, but he's still a prat to me.
I'm wondering if her mum knows anything about that? If she does, hopefully she'll tell her at tea which I'm sure it will be a really happy family catch up lol. I'm excited to see all of them there, and how they interact with each other when they're just doing something normal like having tea.

Hi there!
That flashback explained quite a lot about her, Abel's and Scorpius's relationship. I get that she was just him as a fling, something to do (pun not intended lol) when she wanted to hurt Abel or was bored, but I don't think Scorpius felt the same. Hmm, it's a tricky one when feelings are involved.
I can't believe they couldn't find the tapes, Nora's getting good (assuming it was her of course). I hope she (or they) have done a good job of hiding them, because if they find them in 24 hours then Rose is really busted. I can also see why she wouldn't want her mother to know, but it's probably better she hears it from her instead of the newspapers. I think Hermione's going to hit the roof either way.

Hi there!
Oh dear, she definitely should have been more careful when installing that camera. But what's done is done now,and at least one of her closest friends(? are they actually friends, cause she's not very trusting) is a lawyer so that must count for something. I can't believe they were having her watched though. How strange! They must have thought she was up to something, which again, she kind of was.
Xavier's a bit of a rat though, that was a nice way to spin things to make Rose look bad and for him to come off squeaky clean. I hope nothing too bad happens though, she was just getting somewhere.

Hi there!
Oh wow, that was a crazy chapter wasn't it! Adam turned up, and not gonna lie he's a bit of a prat lol. He did have a lot of answers though, and cleared up a lot of questions such as what secret was going on in the family, the use of the illegitimate kids and the fact that means Mrs. Geronimo had an affair. I'm guessing that's what Victor was talking about when they overheard the conversation after the party.
And then Rose sort of gets arrested for obstruction of justice, which doesn't seem to be wrong, but it does seem to be unfair. Where's Xavior in all of this? I wonder if he knows, or if he's the reason she's being arrested? Think Mott might be involved though! This has really picked up the pace now, I'm excited to see what happens next!

Hi there!
The coat moved? I really hope Adam has it, and that she find him soon! It really does seem like he holds so much information, I just hope that when she does find him, he's willing to talk, otherwise it'll all be a bit pointless I suppose.
Oh dear, parent's have such a strange hold over their children, even when they're adults. I feel like you've still got to please them or do as they say and I think you portrayed that hire perfectly. Hermione and Rose have such a tricky relationship, and it seems like it's only going to get harder the older Rose gets as it'll probably be harder to make amends and fix things. I wonder if her relationship with Ron is any better?

Hi there!
Things are most definitely heating up around here! Poor Scorpius, it seems like he was in hell trying to avoid the drink. I'm glad he did though, that must've taken some effort, is it ridiculous i feel proud of him? And he looked after Anna as well, which was really nice of him considering how much she'd have to drink.
I definitely think he's getting feelings for Rose though, the way he was feeling when he was trapped out the Manor with her. I think that definitely indicated something was going on. Also, that conversation between Mrs. Geronimo and Victor was very suspicious. I wonder what they were talking about and if she really knows where Adam is?

Hi there!
Well, that was definitely something very steamy. That was really well written, and I liked that he offered to umm, help Rose afterwards, very kind of him aha.
Hmm, I think that the drinks with her friend's might turn into something else about just a little catch up, these things normally do when you've got so much history going on between people. Although it would be nice if it was just a normal catch up for Rose's sake.
The flashbacks were intriguing, I wonder what they were arguing about, and what secrets they had. It seems to just get more and more imperative that they find Adam, he seems to hold the answers to a lot of questions.

Hi there!
Aww, i'm glad she told Nora about what was happening, I think she definitely needed some help to take some of the pressure off of her. That trip to the French house was worth it though, especially with the jacket she found! The use of the muggle tracker was another really clever idea, I think she'll be successful if he goes back. But if he knows they've searched the house, then he might not.
I kinda felt bad for Mott, she was only trying to do her job and then in walks Rose Weasley, with all her attitude. That was also interesting with Xavier, a little fling between them? I'd say it was cute, but that doesn't seem to be the right word. It was definitely something though!

Hi there!
Aww, that's sad that Rose has had such a hard childhood. I suppose it couldn't have been easy for them to grow up with parents who are so well renowned in the wizarding world, and then they both just carried on doing great things as well. It's hard to live up to what, and if they were placing expectations on them as well, that would make things even harder.
I think you did a great job going into her background t shogun, and her childhood growing up. You can see a lot of her personality reflected in how her childhood was, and the way it shaped her. This was a really interesting chapter.

Hi there!
Poor Scorpius, it must be hard for him after everything that's happened in his life, especially after his mother had died but drinking is so not the answer to any problems ever. I hope he can get some help, maybe Rose could help him although he seems just as upset and down in life as he is. Maybe not quite as much. I'm glad she's stayed there though, even if it's just for a while.
So that's why Scorpius was shocked to see the Lawyer, it must have brought back some painful memories. It's also a shame that he doesn't know where Adam is, he's still quite useful when he's drunk, which is something.

Hi there!
Aah, that was very sneaky for Rose, but it really does seem to fit her character. I suppose Anna was just looking out for her brother when she hid the note but it does look really suspicious, she's lucky it was just Rose who found out about it instead of the Aurors who are running the investigation. I wonder if Rose is going to cooperate with them? I have a feeling not easily.
So Scorpius might know where Adam lives, that seems so wild? That he seemed so far away when in actuality he's been quite close this whole time. I wonder if Scorpius will tell Rose though. Something seems to be happening between them as well, but I'm not sure what yet. It's interesting though.

Hi there!
Well I'm glad that got shut down quickly, Rose is right, Scorpius knows what he's doing when he's being a lawyer. It was impressive to read. So she's got 60 days to solve the case, I think she can do it, especially with Scorpius' help.
So does Mrs. Geronimo hate Rose because her husband and her son liked her? I assume that was it when she said she didn't have to like her when her husband died. I wonder why though, did it also have to do with Rose and Abel splitting up? It seems like she still cared for them so I'm now wondering what went down between them two as well.

Hi there!
Ah, I love a good mystery and the clues that are being dropped are so intriguing. The note? Why didn't it turn up? Does Anna have some part in this? And who's the mystery man? The idea to use muggle cameras is really clever too, I suppose a lot of wizard's wouldn't think twice about something as muggle as film.
I don't know whether to feel sorry for Victor, if he's been passed over for inheritance twice now for no reason, but then again people can leave their possessions to whoever they want, it's their choice. It seems strange that Mrs Geronimo would want it overturned though, she must really have an issue with Adam. I kind of hope he turns up soon, I imagine he'll have a couple of answers.

Hi there!
Rose and Scorpius have such an interesting relationship, they seem like they were friends at school, with Abel, but now things seem to have unravelled a bit. Maybe this will bring them back together? It seems a bit morbid but why can't death bring people together again, especially an unexplained death.
I quite like the idea of them in business together as well, they seem like they'd be a good match to work together, like their skills complement each other. I'm sure it'll make for an exciting investigation, and hopefully a successful one as well.

Hi there!
This is an intriguing start to the story. I loved the way you introduced us to the characters, I'm especially intrigued about Rose and this elusive Adam person. I wonder why he has chosen to leave his will to him, when he hasn't' even showed up for the funeral? I assume something went down with the family.
I wonder what Rose managed to find out, if anything, after he was at her office. That might help with the investigation into why he died. I'm really intrigued as to what has happened, there's a lot of mystery and I‘m excited to see where you take the story!

Hey!
Back again! yay!
I love getting to see a different side to Scorpius in this chapter. He is more firm and confidence which is cool. I like that Rose got to see him like that too. I doubt she'll trust him more though. 'Abel looked so alive and vibrant that Rose almost paused and asked him to tell her who killed him.' another line that I thought was just funny as well timed. Rose and Scorpius are so petty with each other in this chapter but I kinda just loved that about them, there is a bit of snark and banter there already even if very childish form. I appreciate that though.
sixty days?? I thought it sounded like lots but I don't think it really is now haha. Rose really isn't liked by this family. maybe it's Rose who needs to watch her up. I loved her warning to Mrs Geronimo at the end of the chapter, what a punchy line to end on. I guess we need to see if the father's death is also going to tie into this mystery as well!

Hey!
I'm here for the reviewing event!
I'm really enjoying the early stages of this story. I love Rose is using muggle technology to help her with her career like it's such a cool idea. It shows how close she is to have grandad which is adorable. She would always thank her grandfather Weasley for sparking her interest in the extraordinary. I love this line. it explains so much about Rose's personality too. The characterisation of Rose as this powerful, blunt, unapologetic woman is a huge selling point. I love what you're doing with her character. you're really great at getting little details in which really shape her character.
I think she's being a bit harsh on poor Nora honestly but maybe that's just Rose's experiences speaking though. Rose going through the camera is great! I love how she is already trying to piece together what's happened already. She has a clue. I can't wait to see how who was leaving the note and why. is it important if he was dead by this point?? I love you laying out the pieces!
Rose and Scorpius exchanges are amazing, I love their chemistry together. I feel it already though they kinda indifferent boarding on annoying each other at the moment. I feel a great partnership coming on! their back and forth is so good. I can't wait to see more of this!

WOW!! That was quite the interrogation/interview session, here!! I don’t know how you do it, but wow do you do such a great job at writing these types of semi-combative conversations without it getting boring. Xavier and Rose initially behaving rather immaturely as they’d been fuck buddies *very* recently and finally causing Galea to send Xavier out before he throttled Rose for her *too true* comments. Classic! The frank and disturbing direction that Galea then talks them down is rather alarming, and it takes Rose far too long to understand what he’s getting at until it’s too late for her to talk herself out of some bad possibilities. Her tears coming at the end as Galea (gently, thank god) asks if she wants to speak to a lawyer makes my heart hurt for her, and, ugh, it’s just such a good chapter that gives us more ideas about what the fuck the Auror department has been doing about this case and how Rose has really gotten herself into some shit now. Great job!! :)

Hi!
OH MY GOD, WHAT A CHAPTER! :scream: Adam appearing out of nowhere and clearly doing better at her job than Rose can, then just trading barb after barb with her until Scorpius is roped into the situation is done so well. Rose and Adam clearly butted heads prior to Abel’s death, and Rose’s investigation into Abel’s death now is clearly not helping things between them. Poor Scorpius, too, being semi-consumed by his guilt at sleeping with Rose while she was with Abel and feeling indebted to the Geronimo family thereafter. Ugh, you just do such a phenomenal job of writing all of your characters with such depth both personality-wise and emotionally. The tension building between the three of them as the pieces start to fall into place and Rose realizes how much shit she’s digging into here is amazing, and then you just cut it sharply with Aurors showing up to bring Rose in for questioning about Abel’s death. :elmofire: is all I can say, and I’ll see you next chapter!!
