Hi Melanie!
I am dead. You have taken my heart and ripped it into a million pieces and then stomped on it for good measure just to make sure it was dead. Good job you. I’m going to go huddle in the corner and cry now and it’s all your fault. You got me so invested in this couple only to rip my heart out. I hate you!
Okay now that that’s out of the way…This chapter started off on such a high note! The playfulness and banter between the two of them just gets better and better. The morning after with Viv and her giving Audrey a hard time really shows how close the two sisters really are. I was dying laughing at some parts. And then came the dinner.
I was wondering how long it was going to take for the first “meet the parents” dinner and I’m glad that it was a full family affair with Viv and her partner as well. It was great to see that Percy wasn’t subjected to an inquisition (there’s a reason I don’t bring guys home okay) and that he seemed to fit right in once he relaxed.
After the dinner, I was expecting to see another fade to black scene and then a hopeful scene where Percy finally reveals whatever he’s hiding but what I got was…well see above…
Anyway I’m off to read the next chapter and see if Percy manages to redeem himself. (I was sooooo rooting for him)
Peace, Love(even though right now you totally don’t deserve it) and Tacos

Hi Melanie!
OMG Quidditch AND a sleepover?!?!? I am not worthy of such wonderful things! Although I have to admit I was a bit bummed about the lack of detail here even if I loved the way it was done and my inner queen was screaming FINALLY!!!! *please hold while I go read the smut*
~20 min Later~
Okay, now that I’ve returned, I can give this chapter the proper review it deserves.
This was sweet! I loved how patient Percy was when he was reassuring her and when he tried to explain the ins and outs of Quidditch and even how he managed to stay calm when she said something wrong. (even though it was technically right it was just for the wrong team) it’s odd to see this side of him when he’s known for being standoffish and almost robotic in a way. He is a lot more relaxed and playful when he’s around Audrey and she seems to be a lot more confident as well. It’s odd but it’s nice to see at the same time. Idk maybe I’m just weird.
I’m still trying to come to terms with how much I’m enjoying this story but I’ll need more research before I come up with a valid explanation so off to the next chapter I go!

Hi Melanie!
Do I detect a hint of tension? No? Oh okay then. I guess I’ll move on.
I adore Moira and how she’s always looking out for Audrey and standing up to Sheldon. I know the ministry is huge but with the amount of gossip I’m sure she hears, I find it hard to believe that she didn’t at least know of some of the rumors that are spread about Percy. It was really sweet of her to say she didn't know much about him even if it might not be the truth.
But back to the couple of the hour…awwwwww he loves her! Even if he doesn’t know it yet. It was sweet of him to try to protect her from the exploding wand and it's great that she noticed. I’m enjoying getting to see them slowly fall for each other and can’t wait to see them realize it themselves.

Hi Melanie!
Once again, I am in awe with how much I’m in love with this chapter. I’m not one who normally reads fluff but I swear this story is going to make me change my mind.
I want to scream from the rooftops that this is one of the best stories I’ve read in a while. I love the bit of domestic bliss in this chapter and also how slow they’re taking things. It’s nice to see the passage of time and that it’s clear they’ve been dating for a few weeks instead of a few days. I guess for me it feels more natural that way.
This is great, this is great, this is great. (have I told you this is great?)

Hi Melanie!
akldsfjalskdjf HOLY CRAP!!!! That was the cutest chapter I think I’ve ever read! I’m in love with this on so many levels that I can’t even describe it!
The banter, the teasing, the feels, OMG I loved all of it! I love how they’ve relaxed around each other enough to let their true selves show a bit more. So much so that other people are beginning to take notice. But yet they are still clueless right up until the end.
Speaking of the end, that kiss was so sweet and unexpected that I couldn’t help but swoon. I loved that they finally stopped beating around the bush and that Audrey was the one who threw caution to the wind and just went for it!
Yet again, this was another excellent chapter and I can’t wait to see what you think of next.

Hi Melanie!
FINALLY ONE OF THEM ADMITS IT!!! I was beginning to think those two would never get a clue!
Once again, the pair are disgustingly cute and adorable and at the same time, they’re complete idiots. I LOVE IT! Their first not-a-date-date was great and it cute to see them both come out of their shells when talking about their sisters. They really are two peas in a pod.
I love how you managed to capture the awkwardness of a first date without making it cringe worthy. It felt natural and I swear I wish all my first dates were like this.(or any date tbh) I can’t wait to see how Audrey’s going to react when she meets the rest of the Weasley clan. As shy as she is, it should be quite an adventure.

BTW I LOVED the Buddy Holly comparison. (especially since I just finished watching The Golden Girls episode where Sophia looks like Buddy Holly lol)

Author's Response:Hi Tasha! It means a lot to me that you're reading and enjoying this as I know you're not a big fan of him. Obviously I think he's lovely the way he is but I do know he's an acquired taste, lol. Everything about him is one big facade, hence all this awkwardness when it finally comes down to any kind of vulnerability.
You're very correct about Audrey's shyness being a direct contrast to the Weasleys. That will come up more than once for sure!
<3 Melanie
Hi Melanie! Oh my gosh these two are so adorably awkward you can’t help but love them. So glad Percy finally worked up the nerve to ask her out for drinks. I think it was super sweet for Audrey’s coworkers to warn her about the anniversary being hard on Percy and why. And then for him to be so nice to her and not let her be left alone <3. I can’t believe you’re making me warm up to these characters so quickly and I love that I’m already absorbed into their love story and they’re not even together yet! I can’t wait to see how they interact once they get more comfortable around each other and learn how to use their “big kid” words. Peace, Love and Tacos Tasha -Team Wanderer–2022 review event

Hi Melanie!
Wait! Hold the phone! Stop the presses! PERCY WEASLEY ACTUALLY APOLOGIZED?!?!? What is this madness??? And more importantly why do I care so much?
I can’t tell you enough how much I enjoy the relationships you’ve established here. Audrey and Darcy remind me of my childhood best friend and me. We were polar opposites but balanced each other out in a way that no one else could. I love seeing that reflected here.
As usual, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this chapter and I’m looking forward to seeing what you have in store for the pair.

P.S Cepheus sounds like a trust fund baby who will only cause more issues later. Good for Audrey for seeing though his BS.

Hi Melanie!
So I guess it’s a good thing that first impressions are almost always wrong but damn Percy way to make a bad one! Please tell me he’s not still going on about cauldron thickness…
Anyway, this first (and second) meeting was everything I hoped for and expected for them. And I can’t help but hope that as their relationship progresses, she helps him learn how to have fun, and he brings her out of her shell. I’m not a big fan of the Weasley boys, (Ginny and Molly will always be badassess and I will die on that hill) but I get the feeling that I will warm up to at least one of them by the time this story is through.
If you can’t tell, I’m enjoying reading this and look forward to seeing what you’re going to put them through.

Author's Response:Lmao I will defend cauldron thickness until my dying day. It's a consumer protection issue! ;)
I think when Percy has fun it's just not what a lot of people expect it to look like. Fortunately, Audrey is the same. And they should help each other grow a fair amount but also this story will be very much about finding someone who understands you just the way you are. <3
Hello - here for galazy reviewing event :)
Aww! Percy's basically making a suggestive comment at Audrey about quidditch. I love it. I like how percy is passionate about the sport too. I don't know if I considered him to like it in canon but I'm loving how he wants to share with Audrey. I'm wondering what terms ginny had given him those tickets. I love her conversation with her dad about her date, I love all dialogue in this scene. Just their banter in this scene, your characterisation makes him like the perfect father for Aubrey, like he's good with advice but a bit grumpy. I just love all this interaction. The choice to bring her family in as her closest friends is so so nice too.
I love the quidditch scenes, I thought you did a really nice job of addressing where they were but focus mainly on the interaction between the two of them. It was very nice to see percy explaining things and a real scene of rapport and banter between them forming so naturally between them. I'm not that keen on action scenes (like just struggle with visualising them sometimes?) but this was perfect.
Audrey's shocking inner revelation that she might indeed be falling for him was amazing. I loved that! I was screaming at your authors note, I think I'm going to read that now too! Brilliant chapter, I really like the pace of the story so far too :)

Hey Mel - here for galazy reviewing event :)
I'm really enjoying getting to read a lot of these chapters bunched together so really throw myself into the irrational worldbuilding. I love Audrey going off to visit her friend and I thought it was really funny that darcy has been filling her in the gossip anyway. One feature of your writing which I'm really enjoying how all the characters in this story have their own traits/quirks like no-one is just a mouth-piece when you need someone to bring something up. Your dialogue is so good too.
So this wand issue, is it coming up as proper plot line or not? I'm wondering if percy and Audrey are going to be off become investigating team on an issue that other people don't care about? I might be reading too much into that. I'm interested in Audrey's role within the war. I think it was stated that she was young. She seems to know a little about it but I think it'll be interesting to learn more about the role with Weasley played. It could make for interesting and emotional scenes.

Hi Mel- here for galazy reviewing event :)
Ah, the gossip! I imagine the rumour mill at the ministry is like x1000 of hogwarts. I love them coming to try get more gossip from Audrey. Noah's reaction to the news was hilarious, he seemed so shocked. I love that gentle ribbing between Audrey and Percy is like their own soft banter. It's so very, erm, them.
Darcy is back, yayyy. I like her dynamic with Audrey. She's so no nonsense which is refreshing for Audrey who likes to beat around the Bush a bit (in the most endearing way though!). I don't really like cooking like Audrey but I do deeply appreciate when other people don't need to be impressed when it comes to food. Audrey is so anxious in a lot of situation but I think she is able to let go a bit with Percy. He is something/someone that she wants and that's stronger that her anxiety which is just so important that he makes her feel like that. I loved the line about him touching his ginger hair. Another darling chapter of this completely charming story xD

Hello - I'm here for galazy reviewing event :)
Viv has to be my favourite character but maybe it's Audrey. Isn't that a great problem to have? So Viv is so fantastic because she's so funny. I love literally all of her dialogue so far. Code for 'have my babies' she's the beat haha. She obviously seems to really care about Audrey too and trying to encourage her/somewhat teasing obviously. Audrey is wonderful because she's so realistic and relatable. I love her and care about her character so much. I love the fact that her dad has the relationship with his daughters that he is able to talk to them in such a way too.
Ahhhh! She likes Percy, I love it!! Viv is right ofc :P I also really love that fact she feels comfortable around Percy when she really doesn't open up to many people at and that's really special even if they have friendship vibes at current (i don't think percy would be great at giving out 'I like you' vibes anyway).
Bonding over crosswords? Aw! That's so cute and so percy-ish. I love the whole interaction and Audrey mentions his glasses. He seemed worried that she didn't like them. Aw, the feels already. I'm not sure I'm ready for this to be a slow burn like they're too adorable! Omg, that kisssss! I love it, Audrey does know how to goes for what she wants really!

Hi Melanie!
This was such a sweet chapter! I love how you've established the relationships between Audrey and her family. It almost makes me wish I was that close to my parents and sibling. (side note: I want one of those rose bushes!) I can't wait to see how you introduce Percy and what her reaction to him is going to be! This sets up the story beautifully and the way you described both Audrey and the world around her is amazing. I don't know what else to say but it’s going to be interesting to see if she comes out of her shell and other ways she will develop now that she’s switched departments.
Peace, Love and Tacos

Hey here for our swap,
This was a really cute chapter. I love Audrey so far. But poor Audrey seeing her sister's boyfriend in nothing but a towel.
I like how Vivian and Michael met. That was cute.
Audrey's coworkers seem interesting. I especially like Moira, she's so supportive.
I adore Audrey's relationship with her dad. They seem really close. I like that her dad used to be in law enforcement but had to quit because it was too stressful.
I like little rosebush too, which is a sentence I thought I would never say.
ahh!
this was such a good chapter! I love everything about it, I'm so impressed about how you managed to pack so much into this chapter. There is the worldbuilding, just descriptions of the ministry which is really well done. I'm obsessed by Audrey's character that you've created. This chapter in particular her inner monologue was really beautifully played and told the reader so much about her, her anxieties and awkwardness. she's such a hard worker too. she's just very relatable.
you build up that Percy interaction so nicely, it makes sense that he would need a bit of time to get use to her. he obviously doesn't trust people that easily which feels in character. he's been through a lot and he's kinda become a bit of office joke in a way. I felt sad for him when he said that he works on 'victory day' but a bit like Christmas, it probably doesn't hold good memories for some.
Percy is indeed adorkable! he's so sweet in a way and you haven't taken away any of his percyness to play him in this romantic lead way. you've played off his canon character well to create this dynamic between them. I love that Percy kinda asks her out in this dorky not quite way and Audrey just doesn't quite get it in an also awkward/dorky way. Good fot Percy and trying again though! I can't wait to see how their date goes down! I'm deffo shipping hard already <3

ah. percy. and his immeasurable guilt. it's perfect. like in a super angsty way but still perfect.
you've managed to really nail down him feeling extremely gucking guilty without, yk, outright saying it -- the entire scene with him and audrey in the last chapter when he got all anxious about it and the one in this chapter just scream how guilty and sad and uncomfortable and guilty he feels. his speech pattern, his kinda brave 'i am going to tell you this' but not-so-brave 'i am going to tell you this after dragging it out as long as possible with unnecessary commentary' was just so so well-written. i honestly think i felt as nervous and worried as percy even though we're seeing this from audrey's pov.
and audrey! god. her nerves were also spot on even though she tried to sort of tone it down for most of the chapter, but i really love the way she kept muttering to herself in righteous indignation at the start of the chapter, it added some funny tones to an otherwise angsty part in her journey and it made me smile briefly :P
the fact that she realised how little she knows percy (and, uh, probably the opposite is true? i mean i doubt audrey has that sort of secret but still, percy doesn't know everything about her) and how quickly they managed to get kinda serious about each other without, yk, knowing all the awkward stuff is making me wonder how their relationship progresses after this - i mean i would wonder anyway, obviously, i still need them to get over this lil....problem....but i feel like it's the sort of realisation that makes you question things? and like a possibility to go into a deep dive to clear the air? which has potential for probably both funny and angsty moments but i'm getting ahead of myself here.
loved the way that she realised how a significant part of her didn't want to let go of percy's hands and that must mean something - it's not dramatic or anything, but it still feels huge and gives me hope for somewhat of a reconciliation soon. but obviously...after audrey takes the time to, yk, absorb everything percy has told her because it's definitely a lot and it makes sense she wouldn't just dismiss all of it like it doesn't matter or like it doesn't affect things because it does, not necessarily in bad ways, but those things are a part of percy and well...you can't keep them separate however much he would've maybe wanted to.
'he annoyed me' broke me
kris
omg i wanna throttle percy
for real
you did this to me. you! with your writing! which is amazing! i'll stop yelling! at some point! :JOY:
anyways, OBVIOUSLY, i really loved this chapter because it's such a rollercoaster but it's not a rollercoaster because THE HURT SNEAKS UP ON YOU AND STABS YOU IN THE BACK WITH A PERCY-SHAPED-LACKING-COMMUNICATION-SKILLS-DAGGER
i feel so much for audrey, i think she must be super fucking confused about what the actual fuck is happening in percy's brain and like....arrhwjhfbwedhbjhan EVERYTHING WAS GOING SO WELL MELANIE. SO WELL.
i just really loved the morning after and vivian being "discreet" and the way you manage to write these...i wanna say background scenes? is that a thing? but like the backdrops to audrey&percy isn't just yk, them and the places where they are but also people and their reactions to percy and audrey and percy and audrey's interactiosn with them but at the same time everyhting is sort of laced with the two of them...like when they're at her parents' house, we see percy interacting with her dad but all of it has this undercurrent in how that relates to audrey. i probably am making zero sense but i just wanted to say that i think that's cool and kinda makes me feel like i'm there with them while things are happening when i'm reading, yk? ANYHOW YOU'RE A GREAT WRITER THAT IS WHAT I'M SAYING
the way percy dealt with the unintentional mention of fred was nice but i have a sneaking suspicion that right around that time he started being a dummy and started overthinking and then things just escalated in his head <.<
also love how proud he is of ginny and even arthur - something that surprised me, but i love it okay
i hope percy will kick some sense into himself??? soon?? pls?? AUDREY DESERVES THE BEST I WILL NOT HAVE ANYTHING ELSE THXBYE
also i get that this was just a huge communication blunder and it makes sense in the context of them not ever actually talking about the war - percy telling her that he killed somebody...kinda casually....even if it was during the battle...i mean that just screams at me there's so much they haven't talked about and these topics are difficult and yes yes i know it's not easy to even start talking about them, especially with someone you really really really like and wanna maybe possibly be something more with them and you're afraid of their reaction......................but i have faith they'll work it out. at some point :P
but until then amazing fluff, and fucking awesome sneaky angst
?????
kris
Hey Mel,
here for some winter gifting!
I love this chapter so much, I love all the character development as you shape these characters. Audrey is just so cute. I love her so much. She is seems so English like Vivian is such a spitfire and she's very passionate in that opening scene and Audrey's reaction is to make some tea! The English love tea, it's what we do. crisis = tea like tea solves everything. it's the only thing that works in every situation. cute detail about grandma's tea set too is lovely. I love the difference between them as sisters too. they have nice contrast but seem to have a deep understanding of each other which is really nice to see.
Audrey seems to have a balance in her life. Darcy seems opposite to Aubrey in a lot of ways but balance each other out along the way somewhere. The blind date scene had me cracking up tbh. This person is so obviously not for Audrey. I was laughing so much as his ramblings that Audrey couldn't care less about. I think Audrey really wants someone is just down to earth but my god obviously not that guy. All your details make this story so vivid and rich. You spare no details when worldbuilding and it's fantastic!
I love the chance to get more interaction with Percy though. It is interesting to get them different setting for those scenes. Percy is obviously trying to make peace with her but he's just not the most smooth talking person. neither of them are but there is a bit attraction there obviously. she notes his smile makes him seem 'kind and handsome'. The fact that Percy made an effort to speak to her however it came out say a lot too.
I love the characterization for both of them. I felt a bit bad for Percy when Darcy comes along and says the most interesting thing about him is his brother being friends with Harry. It seemed a bit unfair of her even if he's not the most friendly person. I think Audrey was feeling a bit more positive about Percy until then. Such a wonderful job at building everything up in these early chapters, Percy and Audrey are such a delight already.
Abbi xx
Hi Melanie, here to tag chapter 16 :)
Okay, this sly bit about Blakely and his partner being out sort of reminds me of how the wand issue was introduced, so I will be keeping that in mind :) Audrey's birthday!! I doubt that either of them are very much birthday people, but I know Percy couldn't resist the flowers. Lol I love how her coworkers slowly work outthe truth about whether or not she has met the Weasleys. Poor Audrey, she walked into that trap. I think they both like their privacy, but also enjoy talking about the other a bit anyway. Ohhhh of course the want to talk of the Golden Trio, but she does parry it perfectly.
Madeleine is right, they all will keep their heads in the sand as they have been before Audrey came along. I think it's interesting that she directly tells Audrey to keep it from Lionel..maybe there is something to worry about with her. I know Audrey doesn't want to believe it, but even the way she convinces Dibble to take Audrey to the hearings is quite bureaucratically motivated. I think she is still a little naive to the fact that Madeleine is quite strategic. But she does have a point: if it weren't wands, it would be done.
I hope Vivian and Michael are alright...well really just hope she is alright. But she is right, they both have their own lives, and that is a good thing in the long run! Also their father definitely reminds me of Mr. Weasley, so I think Percy has him handled :) She and Hermione definitely have a good rapport and friendship, it's lovely to see. This has to be when Voldemort was feeding off unicorns, right? I wonder who Hermione will go to for confirmation. And yes!! Promote change!! The ones who the system protects never will.
Oh no...a dragonpox outbreak! I really do wonder if this is somehow connected to the wands, but that could be a stretch. Even more reason for me to believe Percy's story about Madeleine is that fact that he gives her credit for warning Audrey against The Prophet. It doesn't seem to be just blind hatred!
What a thrilling new chapter for me :)
Catherine
Hi Melanie, back to TAG
I also think that Hermione is a messy kind of organized :) I would also be totally intimidated, but Hermione doesn’t take anything lightly, I don’t think. And she values peoples’ opinions, something I think is inherent to her character! I love this conversation between them, too. It really makes me feel like I am witnessing two women in politics complaining about how only certain voices are heard. It feels so real. And I am glad that Hermione encourages her to keep the project!! It is so important.
I totally do not think that Audrey considered Percy’s family status at all, in fact she barely considered Percy at first lol. I am rather surprised that Darcy thinks or would even say that it’s a nice perk…it’s a little ick to think that. Even though I guess it’s true. Either way. Audrey has great ideas that should be brought to Hermione. You do a great job of having Audrey explain what “better” means to her versus Darcy! I love that part <3
Light-flickering intimacy….quite racy for Audrey lol. I love Vivian too. Audrey does seem pretty proud of her home, and it’s funny the way she thinks about his. Especially after seeing Molly’s kitchen. Wait….why watch out for Ward???? I like Madeleine!! Oh, so she is a little more sneaky than first appearance. But Audrey is so sweet, she thinks the best of people.
I like their little spat, too. It highlights how they are still different people, and the maturity in their relationship! I think this chapter is really good for the development of their trust for one another. Though Audrey does call him a cheeky liar at the end :)
Lovely chapter!
Catherine
So chapter 14, and Audrey has decided that she doesn’t want a saint!! :)
And the time is here!! Time to meet the Weasley family :))) Though of course Percy is apprehensive. I get the feeling that he can’t really forgive himself for everything even though his family have. Yay Ginny. I really like her tone here. I feel like it’s snarky Ginny but grown up, still poking fun at Percy for being the favorite by default of Bill not being there.
I also love George and Percy’s relationship. Obviously they have both grown up and out of their old, tenser rivalry, and it’s more like friendly teasing now. The HB joke especially got me, its such a book callback and I love it. And even Audrey gets in on the banter, teasing along with George. Their relationship will hopefully continue to be like just another sibling, at least that’s how it seems to me :) And sidenote of course Molly wants everyone pregnant, look at how many kids she is used to!
Awww Mr. Weasley and his muggle fascination :) I am glad they can talk about it. I’ve always felt it was such a lovely characteristic about Arthur. And Percy loves that she doesn’t mind talking such inane things with his father <3 And the joking about elopement was so funny, but was it a joke? I would love to see Audrey and Percy at a wedding, but an elopement would be fun as well. “He didn’t lead with that?” in reference to Percy’s NEWTs also had me dying.
AH Audrey you can tell him!!! After meeting the family like that, I am sure that he feels the same. Clearly you fit in well, not that that would matter to Percy anyway. This chapter was all the family feels that I was looking for and more <3
Catherine
Hello, Melanie, my love! Here for our swap! Sorry if it's a bit late...
Wow, what a chapter! It felt incredibly satisfying and a bit slow torture at the same time, which is hilarious, actually... at least they've got over their stupid fight and are happy again! Or even better than before... wow, Percy, what a declaration of love! I had no idea he felt that way! Or maybe I did, but I didn't expect him to spell it out like that... on the other hand, Audrey was being a self-conscious idiot, so spelling it out was kind of necessary... :P But coming from Percy (who doesn't struck me as the best person to talk about his feelings in the world) is even more effective! <3
And Audrey... poor, silly Audrey... I mean, I sort of get it... Percy is the sort of person who would make you feel inadequate, and she is the sort of person who tends to feel inadequate easily... so I can see where all her doubts were coming from... but also, she was being a bit... irrational (no pun intended :P) with all her assumptions. I'm actually surprised that Percy handled it all so well! ;)
Kind of funny, how their roles were reversed a few times during this conversation, with Audrey being shocked that Percy didn't argue for an unfair suspension, and that he accepted a lower level job. Which, again, is sort of surprising for Percy, but I'm quite sure he knows what he's doing...
This is Audrey, she's permanently entry-level and she might actually be okay with that. For the thousandth time, are you sure you aren't writing this story about me? :P
"The way you... The way you make everything seem like it's just right the way it is. And you go through everything with this just constant... unbelievable... grace." He stumbled over the word and looked frankly mortified, now smoothing my hair unnecessarily like he just needed something to do. But I was transfixed with whatever was going on here. / "It's very humbling, and it's..." He searched for the next words, trying to grasp them from the air with his hands, and then gave up, concluding helplessly, "I'm sorry, but it's fucking stunning." Aww... this whole paragraph! <3 <3 <3
I absolutely loved the bit when Percy was listing the flaws of his siblings to Audrey :P Ron with his fear of spiders... and Charlie's episode, I remember that! It was in "Must be one of Arthur's boys", right? I love inter-fic references! :P And "You haven't mentioned Bill," I observed. / "Bill's bloody perfect, but you learn to accept that like the rest of us." This was so funny, too! :P
"So I take it it's an appropriate time for me to finally mention that I actually thought he was a bit of a twat?" Amen, Percy! :P
This review is a bit of a mess (nothing new there), but great chapter, my dear (again, nothing new)! Thank you so much for swapping!
Big snowball hug,
Chiara
Yaaay! They got through it! And I TOTALLY understand why Audrey was how she was. When you get a thought in your head sometimes it won't shut up until you get it all out, even if everything is fine again. I thought it just made her insecurities even more in character for her. It was funny how when she went to think about how many times he made her feel small, it was really only that one instance, the rest was all in her head. It's hard when you're stereotyped as "nice" and it means we get taken advantage of and if anything, Percy saw that and new he wanted to protect her from that. It's sweet that she still wanted respect for how SHE reacts to situations and he doesn't understand because it's a kind of "grace" as he puts it, that he'll never have/understand.
There was one section that was hard to follow who was talking to who... I think I found it. I know going back and reading it I did understand, but sometimes when I read something a little too quickly it can be confusing. I think this is the part:
“ ‘Bothered’ me?” he repeated in disbelief. “No. My neighbor’s parties ‘bother’ me.”
“Well, all right, so… can we safely say that you were never exactly an objective outsider here?”
He glared at me and looked like he was probably demolishing the inside of his mouth with his teeth.
“Out of curiosity, what would you have done if you hadn’t been officially required to report it?”
“What does that matter? I was.”
“All right, fine. What if I’d done something wrong that you were required to report?”
He let out a cynical laugh. “That’s a trick question if I’ve ever heard one.”
A little more description of the person talking would help a little.
All in all, I absolutely loved it, I'm glad they got through everything. Great job, I know that was a really tricky chapter!
Hi Melanie! Here for the tag and chapter 13 :)
I really like how Audrey confides in Brian about the situation with Percy...I feel like she respects him a lot, and trusts his judgment about what happened in the Ministry during that time. Wow, and then with his revelation that he didn't believe Harry at first. That is a clear sign that he trusts Audrey back, and I think it bodes well for their work relationship in the future. Not to mention kind of clears the air on just how terrible the Ministry was under Voldemort. And how hard of a time Percy had.
"Beech. The wand of witches who loved wizards who were not saints." This line is so sweet :) I love how she is diving into her work, but still brings it back to Percy. It sort of reminds me of trying to focus on something "productive" when all you want to do is think about the one you love <3 Aww and now she is passing notes, how cute. YAY she is going to meet the Weasleys soon.
Awww, I love this little sweet moment in bed together. And now I need to go back to read Swynn's predictions, honestly. I am so glad they have reconciled, but think that they could do with one more good talk. And then maybe she can reveal her own past with Bobby Price... :)
Can't wait for more!
