hello (here for the galazy reviewing event!)
I thought this was such an interesting pairing which isn't explored enough! Lucy seems a lovely and lively character which is so good (she hates boris so are we going to get to see a rivals to lovers trope?!. I love hufflpuff!lily too, that's something that you don't really see a lot of but the thing that I'm most shocked about is lily having blonde hair. I wonder if it's part of her identity like she likes to be blonde so she can set apart from all the rest of her family. it's a bit odd that scorpius mentions liking red head.
I'm really interested in their dynamic between Lily and scorpius because it's pretty unusual that some many people in a family would be dating scorpius especially for long periods of time like he does Molly and Dom. I want to know what scorpius got that family members falling over themselves for him. i don't think it can very be simple because of that. like lily obviously has feelings for him?? I don't know if I quite buy into the friends with benefits, that's personal opinion.
they have such a good chemistry though, they look like they're having a lot of fun with each other, nice banter. I enjoyed some of the dialogue there. I'm interested to see how teddy plays into this story to as it's listed as a pairing. thank you for your little introduction about your character lysander too :)

THE TITLE. IT’S SO CUTE, I LOVE IT.
Milk braids!!! I do love milk braids. I bet Lucy looks like an angel with those in her hair. :D
The dynamic between Lucy and Lily is so interesting! I am particularly fond of the decision to sort so many of the Next Generation kiddos into Hufflepuff -- we need more representation in fic. :P I love this classification of Lily as the kind of “confused” Hufflepuff, like the one who questions, “Why am I here?” It sounds like she has a great deal of dramatic history with the other members of the family, and I’m really curious to dig deeper into her relationship with Scorpius, and Teddy, and all her many many cousins!
I love Lucy a lot; seeing her being so bright and cheery in the morning almost gave me traumatic flashbacks to when I had to wake up early for classes, but she manages to stay so refreshing and cheerful! I love that and admire that!

Author's Response:Ahhh! Thank you so much and I'm sorry my reply is so late, but I appreciate the fact that you took the time to leave me such a nice review!
But yes! I feel like Lucy and Lily are so overlooked in the Next Generation, but every single time people always overlook the Hufflepuff house - it's a shame! But yes, Lily is very much a 'Puff with the mind of a Slytherin, and I always loved the whole dynamic of a 'heart vs mind' trope. But believe you me, the whole Teddy and Scorpius stuff is such a bumpy ride!
But god my little Lucy Weasley, the Beth March of the family. She does try so hard!

Hello there!
I'm here for the CDMC Round 2 and also because I love the title of this story as well!
First off, the way you wrote both Lily Luna and Lucy's friendship is quite lovely as they sound like not only close sisters but also best friends for life even though the former may seem more accurate. Gathering from reading this, it seems that Lily is not a morning person while her cousin is. I find it interesting how Lucy and Lily Luna also read two seperate news outlet since Lucy is reading The Prophet while Lily is reading the Quibbler. I also love how the quibbler touches on subjects like muggle pollution and cornish pixies. It may seem miniscule yet adds the detail to the wIzarding world and the story itself or the small features of what the story has to add to the world. Additionally the fact they're also both Hufflepuffs as well was not quite unexpected but nonetheless a wonderful and awesome one. (Whoo whoo Hufflepuffs represent!)
Even though there's a small mention of Romania and the fact that she travels to many places, it does seem that Lily is adventurous and goes to many places. I do have to ask: do we find out what she does for a living or does she travel for the fun of it? Wasn't sure what she does exactly although there was a mention of South America earlier so I want to guess that she's probably a photographer for a magazine or something like that? Maybe the Quibbler.
I also really love the banter exchanged between Scorpius and Lily as well! I feel they're very close with the way the words bounced back and forth between the two. It's very interesting the way that Scorpius seems to react to Molly seeing as he probably still hasn't completely gotten over her with the way he seems to react when Lily mentions her. That, and it seems like Lily may know about the past and while we readers have no idea, it's still good to guess as to what happened.
Another thing that should be mentioned is that Lily's thoughts and feelings about Ginny in this way that seemed to indicate their relationship isn't ideal with each other and there may be something that happened that caused the two of them to not be as close or there's a rift or something there even though the readers have no idea what's going on yet.. For example, when Lily thinks about the mess of clothes that she would bring and how that would upset her mother or when she's talking to Scorpius about her mother and the Bat Boogey Hex.
Your characterization of Lily Luna and Scorpius to Ginny is wonderful even though you mention more of the latter especially when you mentioned the Bat Boogey Hex since it's definitely very fitting for Ginny. Do want to mention that I also enjoyed the contrast between Lily and Lucy is also great seeing as they're best friends yet Lucy is more of a morning person while Lily is not for example. Another thing that made this enjoyable was the fact that you wrote Apollo as he's Scorpius dog and it's very fitting that he would get a dog and not to mention one that would be compatible for him like he's the perfect owner of Apollo or seems to be if that makes sense.
One thing I have to ponder about is that Lily dyed her hair to be black and while I do have some guesses, I can't help but feel slightly disappointed (and not because I don't approve of her having black or the blonde hair that she had earlier) but I love her natural hair color so her hair color must have a meaning whether it's to rebel against her mother or that's the vibe I'm getting. If not, do wonder if it's also because she wants a change away or has this desire to change in her life, either way, still interesting how she dyes her hair or has twice both times in the story. If it's just a part of her, that's also a very cool feat too.
There are still more questions that I have after reading this such as to what happened in the past with Scorpius and Molly and if Lily is involved in it and or just knows about it, how is her relationship with her mother and what happened between Scorpius and how does he deal with dating Lily's cousins? Wait is the relationship between them a secret that only Lucy and possibly, Hugo, are the only ones who know about what's going on? Oh, and also those boxes where she stores her underwear as clothes, are those boxes supposed to represent something? Like the fact that she uses them on her travels but not just to store or keep things with them but maybe that she's always on the move? But in all honesty, this a pretty good start so far!
Overall, definitely am looking forward to read more to see what's happening! Keep up the good job!

Author's Response:Oh my god thank you so, so much for this review!!!
I'm so glad you not only liked, but understood the Lucy and Lily relationship. They're so different, butI really wanted to play with the Hufflepuff dynamics, because most stories I've read (not all!) are where Hufflepuffs are very sweet and tenderhearted, like Lucy and Lily is definitely a wildcard. But as for Lily's 'career', which we'll use that word very lightly, is photojournalism for her godmother at the Quibler. She mostly spends her time lounging around and freeloading off her friends with careers - the adults!
As for Ginny and Lily, they do have a very rocky relationship. But in time, it all will be explained, I promise! The Potter family is definitely something I'm excited to explore, because in most fics I've read, no one really adds Lily in, which I think is a shame. I am very keen to explore the relationship of the family, especially outside the Hogwarts dynamic.
As for Molly and Scorpius, well, it's... complicated...
Thank you so much again, I appreciate your beautiful speculations, thoughts and comments! I hope you enjoy the story as it progresses!

Hi there, Bee!
I came across this while perusing recent Hufflepuff novels, and this piqued my interest right away! Rare pairs are a favorite of mine, so seeing this was going to be Scorpius Malfoy/Lily Luna Potter I immediately clicked in and was not disappointed!
You clearly have a good grasp on the Next Generation characters and how you want to portray them. This can be difficult purely because it’s a numbers game, but you have clear definitions for the personalities of Lily Luna, Lucy, and some of the other Weasley-Potter-Granger clan within the first section alone. I’m very excited because you’ve sorted so many of the family into Hufflepuff -- this is going to color the story much differently than if a majority of them were in Gryffindor, so that’s super neat! I love the relationship Lily and Lucy have here; very supportive cousins with knowing looks and unspoken things telling more than words really need to or ever could. And the base trust they have with each other not to spill secrets or rat the other out to the rest of their family -- so adult and mature of them!
Lily Luna letting herself directly into Scorpius’s apartment, hm? Clearly he’s given her a key, or he doesn’t have wards so a simple Alohamora spell does the trick :P These boxes of all of her stuff, at both Lucy’s place and now at Scorpius’s, what do they signify? Lily’s indecisiveness? Her refusal to fully commit to something or to someone? Whatever it is, I’m sure there’s a well-thought out reason behind it! The banter Scorpius and Lily have is just *chef’s kiss* so great and cheeky, and I love it!
I hope you plan to continue this soon, I’d love to see more of all of these characters, especially if they’re all going to be at the Burrow soon and/or a wedding! Great start to this novel. :)

Author's Response:So, I recently was checking my email and saw this and I literally have heart eyes! I never realized I didn't put the second chapter up here (I mainly use AO3) but god this review made my heart sing! I appreciate he time you took to write this, and it truly means the world to me. Lily Luna is one of my favorite NG characters, and there isn't as many stories written about her or ScorpLily. I don't really know why their dynamic has always spoken to me, but here we are after, most likely over a decade or so of love for them, with this story (even if it's incomplete). But despite there being a lot of NG fanfic, I feel like people shy away from Lily, Lucy, Molly, Roxanne, Freddie, Hugo and the Scammander twins, which makes me sad. I think there's so many NG tropes, but then again, with Lily and Co, there's so much you can just mold by think of certain traits their parents had and the lessons war caused them to learn.
And as for most of them being Hufflepuff, it's such an underrated house. There's so much diversity to unbox, that I couldn't resist. Lily, for example, is very smart and adventerous, but also incredibly lazy and cunning. But Lucy? She's sweet and hardworking, very loyal and bookish. Their friendship just works somehow because Lucy doesn't accept Lily at face value. She's always kind of mothered her.
Idk if this is "canon", but in my mind he told her the spell to his lock. Lily does, indeed, spend more time with him than anywhere else. But as for the boxes, it is Lily's indecisiveness, but also her absolute refusal to settle into one spot. She has a lot of reasons, but as the story expands, I promise, we're gonna see something from her and her very disorganized way of life.
Gah! Thank you! I feel like they're so canon with one another. They speak coyly, but they understand one another so well. I love that you enjoyed them.
I did submit the next chapter, so I hope you like it as soon as it goes up. Thank you, MadiMalfoy.
