Heya! 

 

First of all, I absolutely love the idea of a student-run school newspaper at Hogwarts! Second of all, I love the name you’ve chosen to give it in “The Golden Snidget” with a different publication called “MagiQ Magazine” which is also great. Third of all, I love this Slytherin character who is our protagonist, Emily. She’s got a lot of depth, clearly, and she’s also more unique for being a muggleborn Slytherin too, and yet she’s someone who can easily slip into the shadows and be noticed by no one, for both good and bad. The newspaper team transfiguring two entire carriages into a printing press type room just so they can work seems very on par for a student group wanting to publish their first edition literally the second day of term. :P I hope they publish where all the first years get sorted into! Also what a curious ending with (potentially) Rose Weasley & Scorpius Malfoy, right?? If you continue this I will absolutely be following along! Great job :)

OH I LOVE THIS. I LOVE THIS WITH ALL MY HEART. PLEASE WRITE A NEW CHAPTER SOON, I ADORE THIS. (I need to remember to add this to my Favorites so that I get a notification when it gets updated omg, this is such a perfect perfect premise.)

Emily is a wonderful main character. From the first moments, I found my heart going out to her. I love the way you described her commitment to her work as a distraction in her life, I love the quirks of the narration surrounding her -- the writing is just so vibrant and lively and interesting, and I found myself zooming through this first chapter! I am 1000% here for a newspaper that allows queer voices to tell their stories! And when I saw the discussion of a gender-neutral term for magical folk, I just about flailed with excitement -- “wixen” is a beautifully magical word! Did you come up with it? IT’S SO GOOD.

And I always love fake dating stories that are actually fake dating, rather than a “we both like one another but think it’s fake dating” kind of deal! I am so excited to get to know more about Rose and Scorpius, and their friendship, and who they *really* like, and how they’ll interact with Emily in future chapters!
