Hey, Kate! <3
I'm here very quickly checking out Chalices' noms (congrats, btw! <3)
Poor Scorpius... I'd be lying if I didn't say that my eyes are watering a little... you wrote his grief so well... it's just so hard to lose a parent, no matter how prepared for it you are... poor child... :(
And of course you wrote his friendship with Albus so well, too! I love the way Albus was there for him and so supportive and I love their bond and the way his presence makes Scorpius feel! The way he broke down in his arms was heartbreaking but also so sweet at the same time! This was such an emotional piece and you should be very proud of it! <3
Sorry, have to go... but lovely job on this, my dear!
Good luck for the Chalices!
Love,
Chiara
Hello, back for the last part of the review swap!
I never really bothered to read Cursed Child (which—I’m sorry!), so pretty much the only background I have is that Astoria dies when Scorpius is fourteen. You do a really great job with depicting his grief—even if you tell us of the things that are hard for him to do, the melancholic mood of the piece just kind of permeates with every word?
Well, if can’t depend on Harry or Draco, Ginny’s always there. I can definitely see Harry and Draco’s rivalry blinding them as to what their sons really need at the moment, so I’m glad to see that Ginny has some clarity on the whole situation.
The rest of the story follows the mood I was talking about, but it was because of this that it became really clear to me the nature of Scorpius’ and Albus’ relationship—friends or more, it’s obvious that they’re each other’s person. Or at least Scorpius considers it so, when he only can think of Albus to stay with him.
Thanks for sharing! xx
