Hi there! Here for Quadpot (Match 1) and BvB! 

 

This fic has left me with so so many emotions, my heart is in a tangle. I’m going to try to untangle them, but I wanted to start by commending you on writing one of the best depictions of unrequited love I’ve read. Honestly, I’ve got that exact twisty feeling in my stomach that you get when you witness such a beautiful and tragic love because two people are too dumb to realize what they’ve got in front of them. (And yes, the two people I’m referencing are Scorpius and Rose). 

 

I know that this fic is supposed to detail the romance between Rose and Teddy, but it really feels more like the romance between Scorpius and Rose. I love how Rose’s fixation with Teddy sort of parallels Scorpius’s fixation with her—how both of them are unfortunately not loved in the same way by the people that they love. And yet even as Rose and Teddy’s relationship feels a lot like Scorpius and Rose’s, there’s something different about Scorpius and Rose... while reading, I always felt like maybe Rose has sort of mystified Teddy in her mind and in doing so, has clouded her vision to the person who stands right in front of her, waiting for her. Scorpius’s steady presence throughout the fic, his dedication to helping her figure out her feelings, his patience—I feel like these qualities serve as the foundation of a more real atttaction than the one that Rose feels for Teddy. 

 

But at the same time, there’s something really sweet about Rose’s romance with Teddy. I was swooning right alongside her during their almost-kiss—but then my heart twisted up again when Rose was talking to Scorpius about the almost-kiss. I think you did a really great job detailing Rose’s emotions—the second person POV really helps with that—and I feel just as conflicted as she does at this moment too. 

 

Mostly, I’m left wanting more, haha. The emotional suspense you’ve built is stellar and I’ll definitely read the next story in the serial. Very well done! <3
