Hey Mel!
I'm back for another review for the Gryffindor Red vs. Gold Review Battle for the month of November 2018!
Aww. This is so sweet. I love the idea of Gryffindor trying to cheer up Nearly Headless Nick like this. I wonder who's idea it was to throw him a party. It really was thoughtful.
It's interesting that Nick is so miserable around the holidays. I mean I get why after the incident you described in this story. It would be tragic to lose both of your parents in such a horrific accident all in one fell swoop. Nick really does have a tragic life, eh?
I wonder what Fred and George would've done had Nick flat out refused to go with them. Are there spells to force a ghost to go with you? I mean it's not like they could tie him up and drag him? Can a ghost be frozen aside from by seeing a basilisk?
I thought the writing to old students was especially sweet. I bet it was very lovely for Nick to know just how well loved and fondly he was remembered. The students are right...though they aren't blood family, Gryffindor is like one big family regardless. He just needed to be reminded of where he fit into that family.
Also, I love that this is set when the twins are younger and Charlie is still at the school. I feel like hardly anyone ever writes about that specific time frame. It's either Marauders or Harry and friends, but not much of anything in between.
Good job!
