This was a really intriguing story!  I don't think I've ever read a Founders AU story before, so I was interested to see what you did with this piece, and I really enjoyed it.

I think you set the scene very well in the first sentence of this chapter - it was really clear that this was taking place in the immediate aftermath of the battle of Hogwarts, and that was really intriguing.  The last character I expected to return as a ghost at this point was Rowena Ravenclaw - or Salazar Slytherin - and so that was a real twist already.

I thought you evoked the emotions brilliantly in this piece, actually - and I think they were magnified in this chapter because Rowena was feeling them again for the first time in hundreds of years, and that she wasn't expecting to.

I found the relationship between Salazar and Rowena so fascinating - you wrote it so well that I really believed in it, but I really liked your choice to show the ending of their relationship.  It was so dramatic, but I thought your characterisation of Salazar was so intriguing and original.  I've never read a relationship between the two of them, and certainly not one that produced a child, and the conflict as Salazar was leaving was very dramatic and almost electric.  The tension and pain in those moments was so palpable.

I really enjoyed the moment when the two of them came together again when the castle stood in ruins, and the pain and emotion from hundreds of years ago was discussed and resolved.  I also really liked the meta nature of this story - the fact that they wrote down their story and then Harry discovered it, and it turned out to be the story we'd just been reading.  It was really well done.

Author's Response:

Thank you :)

This was one of the last stories I wrote in Fan Fiction and I had never done the Founders before. But I am happy with how it turned out, so glad that I could share it with others.
